The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
apologies.....
Endeavouring to find a replacement Nomad - thought that was a strange word to use at the time......'actively engaged' would indicate more purpose to the cause.
I actually don't think there was ever any intention to replace Allenby and this is all a bit of a smokescreen.
You are Michael Tang and you have a disagreement with you Nomad and you agree to go your separate ways.
Monday morning, you have a chat with your finance director, Keith Fulton, check who is available, who we want to engage and get on the phone.
It cant' be that difficult, we're not floating Polo.
Keith Fulton - very nice chap and open and forthcoming when I raised the issue of share options, earlier in the year.
I contacted him again last week to enquire about the Polo situation and would it impact on us. Nothing. Is he even still there?
Mo opinion is that we are either terminal; set to be wound up as Hamid has said No - the 12p share price makes me think 'not yet' OR Polo is going private / sold and an offer of 35p is coming our way. That will be described as being 'at a premium' and cover the rights issue a few years back.
We could of course get an RNS at 4.25 next Wednesday saying Noman appointed - but this time, I don't think so.
Nah, not good - we will be heading up the jungle next week with Martin Sheen to the sound of the Doors, The End - all looking to capture Colonel Tang and his renegade accomplices
Anyone know how to fly a Huey ??....okay, we'll stick to the boats on the river.....
Hoping for a miracle - we better start praying.
Marv ....well done and maybe you can shake a bit of moondust over GCM while you are at it.
Crunch time will be in the next fortnight for us holders, as the Polo situation becomes clearer. What baffles me is DG taking 60K in shares in payment for their invoices - why would you do that if you knew it was going 'down the tube' in 30 days,
....we should have all sold up and bought into ODX.
Tripled their money - smart move.
well, good luck kinabalu,
It is an absolute shi**er the current situation we find ourselves in and you may have the last laugh yet.
I hope you are successful with your new investments and keep an eye on this, its never too late to invest and you have a good insight into exactly what the project is all about.
Polo is now the prime mover on this.........
the big conundrum is why DG took 60K in shares the other day, in payment for services.
They know better than anybody whether this has a future or not.
Could the problem be Beijing and not Dhaka - maybe there is a glitch in the B&R I and that is causing a delay.
I think we are probably going to find out more news as the Polo situation develops - (hopefully not unravels).
...could the delay be in Beijing - maybe the project has not been signed off there and it is not Hasina who is holding up progress, but China.
There was always an assumption that this would be part of B&R I, but it was never formally confirmed as 100%.
No its not its sleeping...
It's dead, it's an ex-board
Monty Python aside - has everyone given up or followed GP & Marv onto ODX,
That's about as moribund as this share, seems stuck at around 50p forever
where have all the posters gone
long time passing
where have all the posters gone
long time ago
where have all the posters gone
GP bought all the shares - every one
when will they ever learn
when - will - they - ever - learn....
never knew that was written by pete seeger..
600,000 @ 10p is 60K sterling - I would have thought that sixty grand in Bangla-land was quite a lot of money.
I hope they are working hard for their money and their lobbying chap is like our Andrew Neil outside the House of Commons - asking pertinent, tough questions.
The DG chap needs to be chasing Nasrul Hamid around to get some answers and talking to the right people, we'll call them 'the influencers' in Bangla.
If not, I reckon they have got a cushy number for £60K.
SB - that unfortunately, is the likely outcome. The only thing in our favour is that a number of key suppliers ie. Dyani, DG are being paid in shares. May require some fancy footwork by MT to resolve that situation amicably......
.......they think its all over..............and IT IS NOW..
Seems appropriate.
....would buy on a recommendation from GP or Bees or anybody else.
I suppose at least GP can spell, whereas with Bees, it was impossible to decipher with his autofill, auto correct and downright appalling spelling and punctuation.
Bin the 'Conspiracy Theories' a few people got mugged by not doing enough homework on GCM.
Very, very few people are ahead on this stock, in-spite of all the proclamations of
' yeh, I got 100,000 at 3p and traded all the P&D's to perfection.'
Well done, of course you did !!
To voluntarily delist, a company normally offers shareholders a premium to the price at which the shares are being traded on the exchange.
So, is it more 'smoke & mirrors, is MT taking the company private so that he can carry on, but without the watchful eye of the SE.
Who knows,.
If NAV was 7-9p as suggested, expect a 'take it private' bid of about 2p - standard AIM form.
If he keeps the listing by hiring a NOMAD - maybe business as usual - September soon.
Pappikion...that's a blimin' positive article too - like to think it was an orchestrated leak, but I'm not sure they are smart enough to go down that route..
this bloke has more ability, technical knowledge and macro-economic understanding than the entire Energy Ministry put together.
With Nasrul Hamid and his sidekicks ' busy doing nothing', the last ten years have been completely wasted - I loved his comment on 'the Utopian dream of imported coal' - brilliant, summed it up perfectly.
Poster (Phulbari) has always maintained nothing will happed under Hasina and sadly, he is looking increasingly correct as the years have slipped by.
We have Martyrs Day shortly, so no news before then. As we move into September and the Autumn, we must be due some updated information.......... or is it still all smoke & mirrors at Polo / GCM
Gooner - had to sell my vinyl collection a few years back, had Strange Days (with the bald weightlifter) the bloke in the vinyl shop practically levered it out of my hands . My Youtube tip is 'When the Musics Over' - Absolutely Live all eight mins + JM screaming SHUT UP - classic......
....and of course, I'm pretty sure the music to Martin Sheen going up the Mekong to find and kill Brando, in Apocalypse Now.
...with Polo crumbling in front of our eyes, time for a bit of the Lizard King c. 1968 -
This is the end, my only friend - GCM.
The end of our elaborate plans - the End,
No safety or surprise - the End
I'll never look into your eyes again - GCM
Where are we going - difficult to see MT letting Polo be de-listed. We had the Great Stink of 1858, could this be the 'great fetid stink of AIM 2020'
