I disagree. I don't like it.
Cancelling options with a realistic exercise price and replacing them with ones that have targets based on something other than the share price.
So basically, they can make money from them even if the share price does badly, which is stinky.
I would far rather have more options in existence, that need the share price to rise significantly to be exercised, than a smaller number of options which can be exercised at any share price, for nothing, even if the company performs badly for shareholders.
