Thanks, BBN and Ophidian for your thoughts! On this. The port and the consideration for export and transportation by sea in specialised tanks does make sense.
The thought process behind my thinking is transportation is expensive and carbon emission heavy.
Given the quantity of water/acid which could be procured locally and then blended with the vanadium which is heavy by comparison at 3.357 kilos per Litre compared to water and acid. I could imagine multiple electrolyte plants around the world all run by BE in time of course!
For now, though the process has to be learned and perfected and quality control over the next 2 to 3 years will need to be ascertained. There will be huge demand from SA no doubt at all. I am also sure that 1000MWh will not be enough for annual production in 18 to 24 months time.
