Well well looks like the real reason for Labour dropping the Free Speech Act in universities has come to light.

A freedom of information request revealed lobbying by UK universities to drop the bill complaining it would undermine their lucrative revenue source from totalitarian regimes.

Toby Young, general secretary of the FSU, said: “It’s becoming increasingly clear that the reason universities lobbied the Government to quash the Freedom of Speech Act is because they’re worried it will jeopardise their cosy relationship with various authoritarian regimes, particularly the People’s Republic of China.
