SG2; 'if Local connectivity within the two-well Lancs zone is as good as DrT thinks/ indicates, and this continues throughout LanFax, might it not be feasible that a single guaged well on the Hal end would prove the reservoir concept ( and volume)?'
I seem to remember Dr T in one interview saying that if they put a guage down a well in Halifax and it could 'see' the EPS on Lancaster then it would be 'game over'. But that's not going to happen for a year or so. Still, something to look forward to.
Can't say I fully understood the paper, but what i take away from it is that ;
1. This set of fields could be transformational for the whole UKCS.
2. Every fractured basement play is different and Lancaster has no direct comparators elsewhere that are known so therefore more detailed analysis and data will be required to fully understand the reservoir size and characteristics.
3. The EPS (primarily) and to a lesser extend the drills in GWA, will give us over time the data required.
It gives me great hope for the future, though I suspect it's going to take longer than I expected for the SP to reflect the massive potential here. I had been hoping that the 1Q20 CMD would be a turning point but I'm now thinking it's more likely to be somewhere at the back end of 2020 or even into 2021 and beyond (when we get the FFD plans for GWA and GLA produced) that things will really start moving.
Who is it that keeps talking about being in deep freeze for the next 3 years? Can I purchase a spare one off you!
Sorry el19. Don't know why I put you down for 55, now re-arranged.
Rev.
I was just tidying up the list and adding others to it when I realised that both el19 and Feelinlucky had put down 55p. I've now changed Feelinlucky to 55.01, unless one of you wants to change your guess slightly, here are the present guesses;
Will be interesting to see what today brings and if it starts getting nearer my guess than Bobrad's!

PS I meant next Thursday midnight, not like in 3 hours!
I've been away for the last 3 months (sabbatical walking the camino in Spain and then 6 weeks in China) so haven't had much chance to post or set up another sweepstake. I'm now back and thought I'd set up a couple of quick sweepstakes, so here's my first.
Rules (as per normal): 1 guess per person together with a chosen charity.
Person who wins everybody else sends that charity at least £5 (though quite often people double it to £10 but that's up to each individual).
My decisions are final - no arguing with the referee!
Given that we know there's going to be a pretty major update on Friday 20th the sweepstake is to say what the SP (as shown by this website) will be by close of play on Friday evening. guesses are allowed to 2 decimal places (so today's price as shown above is 47.64)
The sweepstake will close at midnight on Thursday after which no further guesses will be allowed.
My guess:
Reverandy - 76.00 - Martin House children's hospice
No probs Pete, I couldn't read it for all the stars anyway!
Looks like somebody has just woken up to how undervalued we are!
Not surprised at the underwhelming SP response. The RNS was just an aperatif in preparation for the main course on the 20th. That's when we, and the 'big boys' get to know exactly how well the well flows (though the big boys will probably get to know a few days before in which case the SP will reflect that early next week). I also noted that the natural flow DST only reached about 6,000bpd rate, which is way below what it's now flowing at, so anything around 5,000 in the DST will be pretty good. Can anybody explain why the DST rate and present rates are so different?
Another question (while I'm at it), I noticed in the CMD Dr T dropped a hint that the oil depth in Lancaster could actually be lower than the 3C depth RPS put it at, in which case would our 2C resources in Lancaster alone rocket to around 1.2 Billion? And is it possible for HUR to prove that hypothesis in the next 6 months of testing?
Sorry if that's a stupid question but as a non oiler it's just something that's been rumbling round my head since I saw the CMD presentation.
Ok so this is my completely non oilworker take on WD.
RT knows there's oil in the mug, because he's sucked some out of the top, but not sure how deep before it gets too gunky to suck. He could just stick to the sweet spots at the top, but that would never raise the RF, so he pushes it to the boundary of where it's possible to suck. Had he got it just right the RF would now be nearer 40% instead of the 22% RPS gives us.
As it is he pushed it a bit too far and we're all crying into our beer, but that doesn't mean the team can't glean useful information from the logs to help them with the drills pencilled in for 2020. Remember Spirit are up for 3 drills this year and, presuming the next 2 work out ok then there's 3 more next year.
All is not lost, just temporarily misplaced as I like to say to my wife.
Congratulations northcbubble, you won the foil sweepstake by a country mile. I shall be donating £10 to the Yorkshire Air ambulance when I get back to Britain at the end of the month
Personally think FOIL RNS is likely to be either just before or just after (more likely) the weekend of the 1st. Frankly either is fine with me, so long as the flow rate shows good and keeps that way.
In terms of the SP mini spike I'd say it's part of the gradual post RNS raise that's been going on all week. If you look at the 5-day SP chart it shows a gently rising curve. Hopefully that curve will continue to rise ever more steeply the closer we get to FOIL, whenever that may be.
Rev.
Great thing with HUR right now is that it could be one of any number of things, all of which is or could be coming up;
Oil at WD
first results from EPS trickling through
early news on move to main market
an ii starting to build a stake
Or it could just be part of the drift upwards that started with the last RNS that's looking towards the FOIL RNS in a week or 2's time.
ADUK
'When you get to Ario refuge, if the gardian offers to heat up a tin or two of something called 'Callos' to assauge your appetite, DO NOT EAT IT. Even though it's a local 'typico Asturias delicacy'. It's been known to make dogs vomit. Spicy pig's-lung stew. Just drink lots of wine instead.'
OK, I'll stick with the fabada instead.
BB:
'Isn't there a small brown bear population in that area too.'
Correct, a couple of years' ago I cycled the 'Senda del oso' and saw 3 in captivity and 1 in the wild.
P.S. Sorry everyone else for the OT chat, it's not as if the SP is doing anything particular today!
Rev.
Gary, it is about HUR, you just need to have been involved in here for 18 months (when I set up the FOIL sweepstakes in the expectation of it happening in 2018)
