Posted on Touchstone Twitter account an hour ago......Royston-1 was spud today, August 12th, at 7:30 pm AST. We plan to drill Royston-1 to a total depth of approximately 10,700 feet, targeting the Herrera Formation. #Royston #Trinidad #ExplorationWell
For info …..Xavier Moonan tweeted this earlier from Stuart Young. Energy Minister TandT. TXP clearly doing their bit with govt!!Starting off the week with Touchstone. Viewing their field operations to see first hand the work they are doing to increase our onshore oil and gas production #outontheground #ttmeei #ttenergysector #StuartRYoung1????????????
Sorry. Last note got away from me early.... how tomorrow will go I have no idea. Seems that the MMs will be running this for their ends short term
Thanks for summarising Cyberbub. I got in at 10p initially and have invested further at various points since. I agree the medium to long term investment view for this stock is now very robust. As a reasonably new investor in this market Having read up abouRead up on and it has been a good time
ST Many thanks. Will do
Thanks for your advice ST/all. Much appreciated. I find it difficult at times to make sense of certain market movements which seem to defy logic. I can see now how MM’s are able to manipulate the market to free up shares. I guess they will argue that they are merely seeking stock to fulfil a large buy order but can’t help feeling that they are doing this for their own ends. I am guessing that’s where the term shake down is used frequently on the Boards.
Thanks for posting. Very positive on FAR. Reinforcing everything that has been mentioned on the board over the last couple of days. A Buy and hold for me!!!
Hi KS
Saw your podcast last night after looking over the PRD board. Good Job! Always good to take any opportunity to broaden knowledge of TXP to the market. Keith’s reaction to TXP was interesting. He had overlooked it initially thinking that he had missed the boat but seemed very interested to revisit given current potential. As an aside I do find the wider discussions here surrounding other opportunities really useful and very much appreciated. I got to TXP after a chat with Danawinner ( many thanks!!) and have recently added PRD and others to a growing portfolio in this sector. GLA

Thank you for posting this across. Good interview. Paul seemed very positive and IMO came across much better than his reserves interview a few weeks ago. I am still struggling to see why the market remains quite flat at moment. Let’s hope tonight’s presentation shifts market view.
Hi Faz
They are the same thing. My terminology is probs a little dated!!! As Trek and Desmond explained the process allows you to reduce any potential CGT tax liability by moving your shares through a selling/buyback process into your ISA (£20,000 limit annually) where they will be free of any future CGT liability. Currently CGT allowance allows up to £12,300 per annum on profits/gains. https://www.gov.uk/capital-gains-tax. The process allows you to utilise this relief annually to avoid a potential build up of liability which could occur if you hold everything as is and were to sell a sizeable amount at a future time. Hope this helps.

Well said Photo. Felt the same but much more positive now having read the board comments over last 24 hours and reflected on the info. Took advantage of the dip to top up with more at 149 so overall a reasonable outcome. Onwards and upwards we go from here!
Hi Faz41.
As Trek says bed and breakfast is the way to go. You might also be able to transfer shares to an Isa in your spouses name without incurring a CGT liability so doubling up on your ability to shelter from taxman.

Just read Malcys blog. He summarises as follows:-
“Touchstone has had a brilliant performance with the drill bit in the last year or so and this report shows just how big these Trinidad assets really are. The shares have suffered from the usual post success market syndrome as investors have a combination of a desire to take a very decent profit and a worry that the best of the rise is now in the price.
Whilst the former is understandable, it and the latter have by no means taken account of just quite how much Touchstone have found and been given in this report by GLJ. On a short term basis the shares are 20% off the 178p peak and whilst the 1 year numbers still show a huge rise the value of the company remains vastly above the current 150p. TXP is still a monster buy on any long term valuation. “

Thanks for posting this. Very interesting read. Sets out the argument for continued reliance on Gas in the near and medium term well against those pushing for a hydrogen powered world. Seems to me that Gas is the only way to go as we have no real economically viable alternative. This bodes very well for TXP and future demand in the market.
