I don't think it's financial with Deeks. I think with him it's ego - he sees himself as *the* expert on these sorts of research statistics and he doesn't like the fact he isn't consulted on everything. I understand he was rather upset he wasn't invited to be on either SAGE or iSAGE.

Deeks is a dick (particularly as he sets up straw man arguments) but I do think some of the issues flagged by the other experts are worth considering.

Concentrating on targeted testing, using reliable tests (e.g. the UK-RTC test), in conjunction with proper tracking, tracing and isolating, will do more to reduce transmission than mass testing the whole population - particularly if you do that testing using crap tests.

The first ITT didn't meet the Directive requirements - even allowing for emergency restrictions.

Whoever is managing the DHSC procurements has been ****ing this up quite regularly. There's been a number of iTTs which have had to be reissued.

I doubt this will come to the UK-RTC, as the tender is:

(a) in relation to antigen LFTs which we don't have at the moment;
(b)is for short term (up to 3.5 months) provision.

I would think this is stop gap procurement, to source additional antigen LFTs whilst domestic LFT development (including Mologic) is completed and the various sign off processes gong through.

I'd expect to see a much bigger tender published either towards the end of December/early in the New Year for a long term supply. That's where Mologic/ODX will score big time.

What might be interesting (and - just to make it clear for those who might get confused about my intent- this is pure blue sky thinking here) is if they used it as the basis for a merger with someone else... could create quite an international powerhouse.

For me it would definitely be in addition to rather than instead of. There's no way I'm letting go of any ODX shares - there a long term hold for me.

Let's break this down, as you're clearly getting confused.

An antibody test will show if you have antibodies - which is what both the NHS information and the Abingdon Health information says.

What Abingdon was making clear (which is also referred to in the NHS information) is that antibody testing is not used to determine whether or not some has or hasn't had a prior infection - as not everyone seroconverts, i.e. a negative antibody test does not equal no prior infection.

What a positive antibody test will indicate is that you have antibodies - and the two ways you will have got those is:

(a) prior infection; or
(b) successful vaccination.

(OK - if you're a baby you might have antibodies indicating prenatal antibody transfer from the mother)

What an antibody test (either positive or negative) will *not* do is tell you whether you are asymptomatic.

And? I think you've misunderstood my post. If you have adaptive immunity, indicated primarily by the presence of antibodies, you'll have got it either:

(a) from a previous infection; or
(b) from a vaccination.

(OK, if you're a baby you may also have passive immunity).

You would have any antibody test to show if you antibodies - either as a result of infection or vaccination. As the NHS information makes clear:

Having antibodies will not necessarily exclude you from any vaccination programme. Antibody testing may be used initially to focus scarce vaccination supplies on those most in need.

Antibody tests will *not* check whether you're asymptomatic. They'll show whether or not you have antibodies that would indicate:

Are you sure that's what they said? An antibody test wouldn't show if you were asymptomatic - an antigen or molecular test would.

The drop was across the full range of Covid stocks as far as I can see - including BRH and RMS.

This are labs for molecular/antigen testing. No risk to ODX - in fact, they indicate a continued long term need for testing.

Those are respirators, rather than the sort of masks we will be making. The collapse of that particular contract is unlikely to have an impact for RMS.
