The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
A Maggie Throup response isn't worth the paper it's written on. She's a big a liar as her boss.
IIRC, it slipped out some time ago that the figures being quote for tests "in stock" include those on order but not actually yet delivered by manufacturers.
"Regulator - it is not my job to maximise the listing of any report I simply reported what the first page shows. I have taken the trouble to look at the lancet report you suggest - I would encourage others to do the same for some context - not being a doctor or even a scientist, the report does not really help me. What I get from it, probably because I already understood this part is that some masks are better than others and the ones most of us wear are pretty useless. I have no wish to continue with this pointless discussion, we are invested in a LFT producer (or thought we were) not a mask producer but if I were to speculate I would guess that HMG will start to undermine the masks we now use and begin to actively guide us towards the use of FFP2 masks now mandatory for many European flight - as we have always done, we will do as we are told but as the government critic you surely are please don’t expect the rest of us just to keep following like sheep, we are getting tired of it."
Inchoate word salad..
"I have just looked online, whilst the commentators on talk radio were reporting the latest news the web suggests that the cloth masks most of us wear are between 3 and 10% effective - dare I suggest, still not significant. I will report back if I come across the suggested latest report quoting only 0.6% effectiveness."
You're obviously not looking very hard. Try some reliable sources like these:

There's lots of good peer reviewed evidence out there.
"I got that from Talk Radio about 20 mins before I commented."
Ah - TalkRADIO... the home of Covidiots and grifters like Julia Hate-Spewer and Mike 'Jabba the Hutt' Graham. About as credible and reliable a source as GBeebies.
"Still awaiting a reply to my letter to my MP, Nigel Adams (Cons) sent 03.01.22, re. support for UK Diagnostics."
Probably too busy drafting pitiful excuses in response to all the letters/emails/tweets about the Downing Street p**s ups...
"Reports now indicate that mask wearing only benefits society by 0.6%"
What 'reports' are those? All the credible, peer reviewed evidence and experts (e.g. Prof. Trish Greenhalgh @trishgreenhalgh ) are clear that masks significantly contribute to prevention/eradication.
"I always thought that the Camino went from east to west across Northern Spain, whereas Porto to Santiago is from south to north. Presumably there is more than one Camino. So are you flying in/out of Porto or driving?"
There's 12 main Camino routes - two of which are the main routes East West (the C. Frances and the C. del Norte). There's several major South - North routes, including C. Portuguese (2 variations) and the C. via de Plata. The other routes tend to be variations on these.
I've done the C. Frances. This year is the C. Portuguese (traditional route) and then next year may be the C. Ingles.
Flying to Porto and then back from Santiago. I did look at trains but it's 3-4 days to get to Porto...
"Sounds good Reg. One of my ex colleagues did the Camino but starting from Brussels. That was a multi month effort. On my list but when the kids leave home. May is probably a good time to do it."
My retirement plan is to do as many Camino routes as I can, together with the Via Francigena and the Sultan's Trail. But that's a few years off yet (waiting for my other half to take early retirement). In the meantime, I'm going to do some of the nicer chunks of the route.
I've opted for the traditional/central Portuguese route, rather than the coastal route, as it runs through one of the major wine growing areas... :-)
Blimey - looks as though some of the trash is triggered by my post...
I've just booked a holiday. Two weeks walking the Camino from Porto to Santiago starting at the end of May.
Anyone know if there's a limit on how many names you can have on your filter list? My trash bin is getting very full...
I don't know if the FCA accepts complaints written in crayon...
Another plonker to filter…
Had a conversation today with a UKHSA (former PHE) contact. Lots of disquiet in the organisation about the implementation of the CTDA process. Suggestions that staff may walk/whistleblow.
Next few weeks could be interesting…
But the antibody is not sort of the transfer mechanism which is what was being suggested.
“ It's also noted in the product's IFU‘
‘Antibody’ isn’t mentioned in the quote you posted.
"I fear you will be filtered sooner rather than later."
Your fears have been realised... ;-)
"It’s not any new news - never seen an RNS recommunicate the same information. We already know this - bizarre"
I understand why they've done it.
The confirmed some time ago that the test picked up Omicron. Avacta has then announced that their test does - but with with reduced accuracy, due to the process used...
ODX are reiterating that the Mologic/Visitect test isn't suffering the same issues as the Avacta test. Seems a sensible approach to me.

Confirmation of detection of Omicron variant
VISITECT® COVID-19 antigen test performs with the same high accuracy on the Omicron variant
Omega (AIM: ODX), the specialist medical diagnostics company focused on industry-leading Global Health (CD4 and COVID-19) and Health and Nutrition products, notes concerns regarding the ability of certain lateral flow tests to detect the Omicron variant with the same sensitivity for lower viral loads.
Further to the announcement on 14 December 2021, the Company's technology partner Mologic Ltd ("Mologic") has today re-confirmed that the Mologic Covios® Ag lateral flow test, performs with the same high accuracy on the Omicron variant as it does with existing known variants.
Mologic's studies are ongoing to determine the absolute performance of the test across the use case settings and in laboratory environments to produce a comprehensive analysis of the detection of Omicron. No data exists to suggest there is an issue, be that in silico or in trials.
This is the same test that is manufactured and sold for professional use by Omega as the VISITECT® COVID-19 antigen test.
Just out...
