A default is a foregone conclusion it's just a question of whether it's an orderly or disorderly default. If it's disorderly it won't be another Lehman brothers style collapse...it'll be much worse.

Interesting find regarding ore grades: Aura Energy releases an updated resource on its Häggån uranium-base metals project in Sweden. At 0.02% U3O8 Häggån is not exactly the richest per tonne of rock. Cigar Lake in Canada, which is the fourth largest in the world in terms of pounds contained also grades a handsome 18.2% U3O8. Maybe they ran out of money to explore. They bought the rights to Yuma in 2007 but were suspended from TSX in 2009. They were supposed to transfer from TSX to NEX in december 2009 but they just seem to vanish at that point

I agree the copper is certainly the defining factor...once they find it ;) But the uranium could well be the bread and butter for a couple of years with Wate pipe due to go to production this year

I heard it mentioned last night that France (70% of their energy is nuke) are planning some very close to the border with exactly the intention you mentioned.

Quite possible that it may be a contributing factor. Saying and doing are two different things however. There's a huge increase in electricity demand coming in the next few years (everybody is going to have to plug their electric cars in somewhere, petrol transport is unsustainable with oil heading for $140 in 2012) and I haven't seen any other country change it's committment to nuclear.

I think the Australian economy dipping sharply might be a contributing factor... and this just isn't a fashionable share...at the moment. That could change overnight.
