Aether, I'm the last one to judge re Indivior given I dabbled with it yesterday. Just be very careful. But it will be extremely volatile for a while so if you catch it right you could make a great return.

Try to avoid hitting the 40% tax level.
You can still contribute £2880 per year into SIPP and taxman adds £720. You don't need earnings to do this.

Wow, Indivior back to 30p. Shite, I was so lucky to sell at 37.9p. Almost decided to hold on given it rose so much but finally decided to take the profit. Maybe my luck on timing has turned? On that basis you are all due a big rise for GLEN!

Billy, around 312/313p. Just before in jumped up to 330p, sadly. Got my timing so wrong. I too thought it would drift back down but it appears to have hit much higher lows so I felt I had to get in again at 328p. so I missed 14p-16p of a gain which is annoying.

Ken, now 38p which is about a 58% profit since this morning. Put in £7k and just sold for £11k. Nice day's work! If only GLEN could move as much!

Ken, you can never tell how results are interpreted, that's for sure. I'm glad your CAML came back.
I am back in Glen around 327.8p so marginally happy at 331p. Think there is further to go with the Copper talk.
I also have a decent sized holding in IAG but can't quite work out what is going on with that one. Will sit and hold and take the divis for a while.

I did take a very small stake in Indivior at 23.8p but will ditch it at some point very soon!

An interesting day trade to say the least. Volatility at its worst/best.

Guys, everything that I've touched over the last month or so has gone south just after I've bought. I've been out of GLEN for that period but I've started buying it again today. Therefore I'm sorry about destroying some of your value over the coming weeks ;-)

I've realised I missed out a bit that could change the dynamic.
The basic rate taxpayer can draw out 25% tax free so they could take £900 tax free and £2700 at basic rate which makes it worth doing as you end up with £3060.
So if you have scope, any non tax payer or basic rate tax payer should probably do it if they do not have pensionable earnings.

I didn't say a basic rate tax payer cant do the £2880 but it is a marginal decision.
Anyone can put in £2880 and Gment adds £720 so you have £3600 in your SIPP. You hit 55+ and decide to drawdown your pension pot and you take out the £3600. If non tax payer you keep all of it. Thank you Gment.
A basic rate tax payer takes out the same £3600 but pay tax of £720 leaving them with £2880.

This is really aimed as a saving incentive for those with some capital but not paying tax.

George, my wife does the £2880 contribution as she is a non-taxpayer. HL automatically apply for the tax refund to top it up to £3600. She can't draw it yet but she will pay it in every year and then take it tax free so well worth doing for non tax payers.
Seems a bit pointless for basic rate tax payers though.

George, you've misunderstood my tongue in cheek response to ScFc's tongue in cheek reply. 313 has been a bit of a ceiling the last few days so I set that as my target price. Managed to sell 10k before it dropped. So I will wait for the next upswing.

Scfc, Heads came up for 10000 shares. Managed to get 313.47. Tails for the remainder so I will hold.

I said I would sell when this hit 313p. I missed this target this morning as I was in a meeting. Part of me wants to trade but part of me is thinking that this is going to shoot higher. I have nothing to base this on, just gut feel.
Dilemma, what to do........?
