I too have experienced the pain of investing in, at the time hot, shares like Cine and others. Best you can do is learn what you can from these experiences. Nothing wrong with a bad experience if it has lessons that help you more in the long run! Best of luck with whatever you decide on AML :)

Its a tricky one. It’s anybody’s guess where the share price will be after the dilution. I’ve calculated my break even to be about £1.19, assuming I purchase all my rights. That’s the break even for pre dilution/post dilution, not break even for my AML investment, which has a long way to recover (about 70% down, how I wish I’d used stop losses!)
I’m guessing/hoping this new injection of cash might help AML in the short term, in the long term who knows ? It’s in the hands not only of AML but also world events. So my plan is to purchase my new shares and hope AML recovers enough for me to sell, maybe even at a reduced loss, over the next year or two.
That’s my guess/gamble, please dyor and best of luck !

@Arthur_Dent Or maybe MM driving price down to encourage sells and mop up the shares to fulfil a large institution buy order? Just guessing really. There’s so many reasons for a price fall, maybe people could add to this list?

Silly novice question but has the dilution of the RR share price all taken place now or will any further dilution happen on the 12th too. Just a bit confused, if I was to buy shares today or any time up to 12th November, could I suffer further dilution of the share price as I won’t have the benefit of any discounted shares?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I haven’t managed to find a clear answer to this

Reading your earlier post on how your portfolio has performed over the last few months, my portfolio has performed in a very similar manor, with Cine being the main one swinging the whole portfolio back and forth between red and blue.
My other stocks have seen slow but steady increases in value (including the other speculative one, BooHoo) but Cine has been the main one determining where my portfolio value has headed overall. Not ideal for a balanced portfolio, but that’s the nature of crazy Cine !
Hopefully your portfolio will be firmly in the blue soon, with Cine doing its bit!

Thanks Mikodx. I had seen the post, plus others had mentioned the court ruling and it’s possible result in takeovers. But other cinema companies haven’t (yet) gone up as much as Cine so presumably there must be something more specific to Cine?

I’m trying to figure out (guess) the reasons for the terrific price rises for Cine in the last few days.
The following reasons have been mentioned ...
- Takeover speculation
- Might be taken Private
- Undervalued share price
- Upcoming opening of Cine cinemas in the US + improving virus numbers in US
- Russian vaccine
The other US cinema companies have also gone up but currently no where near as much... (Cinemark +8.42%, AMC +5.42%)

fwiw I’m guessing it’s a combination of all of the above. Maybe the takeover speculation kicked it all off and Cineworld was the most undervalued ?

In reality I haven’t got a flippin clue but fingers crossed for many more days of Cine price rises

My essentials for trading in Cine ...
- A large supply of disposable underpants. Can’t keep using the washing machine after each brown trouser movement in the share price.
- Aspirin. For the headaches when trying to make sense of the price movements.
- Share price technical analysis software. I couldn’t afford the commercial software so I wrote my own program. It uses a special function called ‘Random Number Generator’ and is remarkably accurate at predicting the Cine price.
- Champagne bottle. To celebrate the promised doubling in price. Was going to get it from Harrods but have now opted for the special offer at Lidl. Might remain in storage for a while.
- Crash helmet. Will need it if my Cine investment goes belly up and I have to explain to the Mrs what I did with the kids inheritance.

As Del Boy would say “this time next year we’ll be millionaires”
Joking apart, though I (naively) jumped into Cine hoping for a quick profit, I remain positive for the long term :)

@ShorterGuy. I’ve made profits and I’ve made losses in stocks. I’m just relaying investment advice I’ve read on stoplosses. And certainly looking at some of the ones where I lost money, I could have limited the losses with the stop loss. That’s only my personal experience, and certainly the volatility with Cine means stop losses are more difficult to make use of. All the best with your trading and what works for you mate.

Most seasoned traders seem to say minimising your losses is far more important for successful trading than holding out for a turn around and profit. That means selling as soon as a stop loss has been hit. On most cases I’ve ignored this rule and lost a lot more that I should have. Sure, prices do turn round sometimes but using the stop loss at least leaves some money in your account to trade another day. Now I just need the discipline to follow this rule myself !!

@Investroid - thanks for sharing your thoughts and also being up front about your actual investment. It all seems to make sense, very best of luck. I maxed out a week or so back after coming in in the 90s then averaging down to mid 80s. So a way to go yet before my head is above water. Fingers crossed for the next few weeks and longer term,. Till then, my champagne bottle remains cooling in the fridge :)
