hi garyboy, i used 0345 722 5525 to call them, i used option 1 to get through to the share dealing account team but this was wrong and i needed to talk to ISA team, which they transferred me through but had to wait another 20 minutes on hold! the whole thing took an hour and 15 but was worth it
i already had a share dealing account with them but opened up an ISA with them just before i rang
Hi Pacha, i had this concern yesterday but Halifax were very good
I rang on the phone and they said that they didnt want to conduct the trade over the phone because the spread was 1.5p and i would have lost £400 on my 32000 shares
so they said they would conduct the trade manually to try get the sale/ buy prices as similar as possible
This took about 3/4 hours for me to see it in my account
when i asked the man on the phone how long i would be uninvested for, he said only for a couple of minutes
in the end, i only lost 200 shares which is about £60 (considering the charge for the bed and ISA is £25, i think thats pretty amazing)
hope that helps pacha!
Hi toonarmy,
anything inside your ISA is tax free, so you can sell down any investment at any time and withdraw it with no CGT liability
it works exactly the same as an investment account, only no tax to be paid
hope that helps! Trade away!
Hi Ian, my bed and ISA just went through! shares bought back at 27.1p and lost 222 shares, so around £60 including fees
really quite happy with that, considering there was a 1.5p spread when i was on the phone to the guy
best of luck to you RMR with yours :)
cant imagine how complex this deal is going to be and pinning down an actual number for this
but i feel that the delays can only be a positive sign that this is going to be HUGE and that there have been multiple offers and perhaps even a bidding war which has delayed things
it will all come out in time, but if things had been concluded 3 months ago, imagine then finding out if we had held on for longer we could have got a better price
full faith in the BOD to bring this home
Hi Ian,
Thanks for the update! that's amazing service, chuffed for you! :) now those bad boys are safe inside an ISA!
If they had conducted it over the phone for me, for 32000 shares i would have lost £400! So i'm hoping manually i have a similar situation as you
the guy over the phone said the charge was £25 to me, which im very happy to pay rather than doing it myself and running the risk of the deal landing when i was uninvested
All the best!
I completely agree Montmuzard, the BOD have set themselves up to be in an extremely powerful position and although they may want to retire, they sure arent going to let this go for anything less than a fair price
i think someone did find an example once of a takeover premium of x18 but i cant remember what it is
i feel like the SP is now totally detached from the outcome of the FSP, especially after such positive announcements such as the JV and DFS and no uplift. its clear theres manipulation to keep the sp at this level and i dont think the powers that be are doing that because they think it will be a low offer
not many sales have occurred under the specific circumstances that this has either; PGM super cycle, no debt, not a distressed company, approached by multiple parties
just seems mad that the BOD would give this away for anything lesss than its true value, all IMHO
Likewise, in hindsight i shouldnt have topped up at 33 but im really not worried about it in the overall scheme of things. Ive got more shares than i had last week and i am 99% confident of an amazing outcome, so im happy with a 33p purchase
The way i see it is, when THE rns lands, there wont be time for a top up so that was my OMG THE BIG RNS HAS LANDED future top up id never get
And i have a high average of 29p, so sitting at a loss right now and have been for a while but have accumulated more than enough shares for me to be happy with, so for those who did get spiked.... dont panic, hold and it will all come good in the end , all IMHO
i totally agree newtothisgame, dont stop contributing because there are some very worthy causes out there, i just think people should be careful about donating and look at where their money is actually going - just because an organisation is a charity doesnt mean that those in need are benefitting
philanthropy in any form should be encouraged and im sure a lot of people who make money from this will be finding some way to distribute some to those in need
I have to agree Tigra, give locally to places that will actually see the money / friends and relatives but these big charities are just corporations
the wages they pay these people goes to sending their kids to private schools
my mate worked for cancer research on the streets trying to get people to sign up to a monthly subscription and they told her that she got £25 commission for each person she signed up and they'd have to be signed up for 5 years for their money to actually start going towards the cause they were supporting
giving generously is great but there's a lot of work that can be done on local levels to make a difference to individuals rather than being sucked up by these huge corporations that operate to make money instead of helping people
Billions, its not yet because we dont know that yet, but im taking best case scenario because there's been a Russian DFS in this area
also, this figure doesnt include the potential 40m oz at MT
just a very rough calculation to show what we could potentially have, very happy for people to point out where im wrong, im certainly no expert
