What do you class as long term quin?
My idea of long term is beyond the year you mention. I am confident of profit which includes dividends before I even think about selling any.

Seriously though doesn't look like the modern day postie is scraping a living. They may credit the CWU. However times change and the future could be the dole for many unless the Company is allowed to modernise unhindered by the continual threat of IA.
As an aside have you decided to move down South as you were considering?

JB. There will no doubt be more pain before gain. However we would finally emerge with a company fit for purpose. Less of this posturing. Surely a more efficient workforce arrived at by natural wastage is the most acceptable result.

I can't see an acceptable long term resolution between the two. If Rico caves in (which I doubt) it will only be a question of time before the CWU come back for more. This type of temporary resolution will require siphoning profits from GLS.
I lean towards Rico taking the Company forward against the CWU wishes. No sensible CEO will accept the constraint of a militant union.
I know JB that compromise from both sides would be a way forward. However that compromise may not be what's in the long term interest of RMG.

Just imagine TP with an audience comprised of multiple Isle, Mad types. They must love the aggresive stance. I have in mind however that both these characters are more sane when IA isn't a cloud on the horizon.
