Our live Investing Matters Podcast Special which took place at the Master Investor Show discussing 'How undervalued is the UK stock market?', has just been released. Listen here.
Hello MrMartini, lovely to see you posting here - apparently, we have been 'elevated' in status - a resilient, visionary, resourceful force; retaining humour in the face of adversity. Or, is that just 'duhhhhh'(?). Anyway, we can take it as a compliment from yet another who knows everything....(yawn) VGLA

Oh - and btw, one of my adult students (but aged 38) contacted me yesterday to tell me that her brother had died the day before - of covid. Personally, I do not think we are out of 'any wood' yet. So, positive post is still one down the line(!) VGLA
09.31 - last phrase is very true imo: ' I wouldn't say testing is dead. Just resting.'
It seems as if some people are deriving very optimistic outlooks based on 'lifting of restrictions'. I must admit that when I look around, do modest research and read about infections coming down the line I feel very grateful that Avacta has pushed forward with (a) testing model(s). My own (upbeat?) hope is that our testing capabilities will be able to be 'tweaked' at high speed in response to any (all?) new infections, whether derivative ones or 'new' ones. World human population 2 mins ago is (was) 7.935 billion, mostly concentrated in densely populated communities with high speed, volume transport links; any bug's paradise - the rabbits and foxes system springs to mind and humans do not seem to me to be at the right end of that system. If Avacta can help us all......enough of living up to my moniker - all round positivity next time when we are at £3 by Friday :-) VGLA
Well, here we are again. I invite you to consider poster 00.48 - 'Alaska's complacent/ill-informed/wilfully selfish electorate has grown used to the annual Permanent Fund Dividend. As a collective, they do not appear to have made the intellectual link between forgoing some/all of that annual dividend for a short period in order to invest in long term infrastructure which, in turn, will assist Alaskans to thrive for the next 50 odd years.'
Need anyone (except the prolific poster) say more? Absolutely extraordinary. The poster has now jumped from tiny exasperations to criticising, as one, the entire Alaskan populace who own, and have the authority, to determine the destiny of THEIR land. This is especially extraordinary as its[?]/her/his current 'Pet' 'PANR' is located in Alaska. I'm sure the 'complacent/ill-informed/wilfully selfish electorate' would love to read and feedback on these publicly expressed views - they can easily be more widely disseminated.......The poster's views share disturbing similarities to continuing aggression in Ukraine as the poster is insinuating some weird sort of dominance over Alaska.
Really looking forward to promised 'More to follow over the weekend concerning the 88E Annual Report.' Could be a sledge crash....
:-)
To all others VGLA
So, fellow 88e holders, I invite you to consider:
Mon 02.37
Copied to our bb
Posted by Arktus1970:
'So, 88E shareholders are on the brink of learning a lot about the 652 million barrels of oil targeted at the Merlin-2 well'
Mon 16:32
Initial part of post questioning the above:
'Great write up apart from the glaring factual inaccuracies. The BEST estimates for Merlin 2 are 329MMBO not his 1467MMBO which is about more than four fold out.'
Herein, 'lies' a difficulty - perfectly encapsulated in the above posts. Some current posters on our bb are using numbers as a form of manipulation. The context, juxtaposition and comparison of numbers is used to give a slanted view of our 88e. I suppose, in politics, it is called spin; outside of politics stronger nouns could apply. As I said in an earlier post, 'Oh, the games'. Here is a clear example of those 'games'. Of course, there could be a response referring to the number in parentheses; however, as this would provide further evidence of the 2nd poster wanting to hide the main point of the text it would be unwise. Beware such posters as this deluge of numerical 'spin' seems designed to squeeze out free thinking. As ever, VGL to investors here.
Mon 16.32: in the interests of objectivity, this post also fails on accuracy grounds - even within the narrow range of criticisms poster chose. Oh, the games ( as someone [who?] was fond of reminding us) :-)).... VGLA
