Shares on major European markets were lower in premarket trading on Monday as investors continued to monitor coronavirus-related developments. The virus has now killed more than 500,000 people since the outbreak began. In the United States, new hotspots emerged in recent weeks, prompting several states to slow down their reopening.
The DAX was down 0.45% at 7:35 am CET, while the FTSE 100declined 0.35%. In Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.39%.
The euro was up 0.25% against the dollar at 7:35 am CET, buying 1.12475. At the same time, the pound gained 0.33% compared to the greenback to go for 1.23760.
