Europe flat in premarket with economy in focus27 May 2021 08:10
Equities in Europe traded flat in the premarket on Thursday as traders focus on economic updates that will be unveiled during the day. Germany will see its latest results in consumer confidence. European Central Bank's (ECB) Luis de Guindos, Bank of England's (BoE) Gertjan Vlieghe, and Bundesbank's Jens Weidmann will make speeches on the current situation in output.
Earlier, German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz expressed his belief the agreement on global corporate minimum tax will be reached "within a few weeks."
The DAX, the FTSE 100, and the CAC 40 all traded flat at 8:00 am CET. Both the euro and the pound sterling also stood flat against the dollar, selling for $1.21918 and $1.41154, respectively, at 8:01 am CET.
