European stock markets traded lower on Tuesday's premarket session ahead of this week's economic data and with earnings season in focus. In the coming days, investors will receive new data on German inflation, EU industrial production, and UK GDP.
On the Ukraine conflict, yesterday, United States President Joe Biden said Washington will supply Kiev with advanced air defense systems. At the same time, Europe continues to strengthen its actions against Moscow over the latest attacks on Ukrainian cities. The latest developments add to the increasing concern over the energy crisis and the looming possibility of an economic recession.
The DAX lost 0.36% at 7:38 am CET, while the CAC 40 fell 0.41%, and the FTSE 100 declined 0.41%.
The euro was down by 0.24% against the dollar at 7:39 am CET, selling for $0.96792. In comparison, the pound lost 0.27% to go for $1.10252 a minute later.
