*tailwinds rather!
They're basically saying to not expect similar growth rates going forward due to the 'one-off' headwinds of lockdown experienced in 2020.
Likewise! This a very pleasant surprise this morning.
Very smart move on their part. I can't seem to find much news online which is a bit odd
Thank you, Wyn! Very much appreciate your detailed response
Anecdotally, the spreads seem to be much larger when we are on an upward trajectory than vice versa which is irritating.
Hi Wyn, always enjoy reading your opinions on this and liking the sound of the 7.5p!
Could you help me to understand what causes the wide spread? I believe this typically happens with small-caps as they're not as liquid so the MM's have to take higher margins in order to justify trading them - or have I misunderstood?
Perhaps some sort of tie up between Eve and one of the sleep wellness apps like Headspace?
Agreed! I find angry customers are more likely to share their views than a happy customer as well. This was the comment, 'Need to reduce the price to reflect the lack of guarantee and the quality. Avoid this brand at all costs' - very malicious indeed.
Hi all,
So I've starting seeing some Eve sleep advertising on my Facebook feed! I'm a little bit concerned however, as I have seen two separate people a bit upset about the lack of guarantee / poor quality? Just wanted to flag it here to see if anybody has further insight on this?
Hopefully they're not growing too quickly which in turn is compromising their customer service.
Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the open :)
Thanks for this - very helpful! I booked a Ryanair flight yesterday and it looks like they've got this down to a tee i.e. cross-selling Hertz rental cars, travel insurance etc
I was going to say the same - what is this about?! The spread is definitely more noticeable when the SP is moving up...
From my experience of working within large public companies, they are a costly exercise in terms of time spent drafting and redrafting the presentation, press release etc etc. So the cost is more in terms of people focused on arguably less important matters i.e. the past! :)
*time consuming
I'm not sure what the obsession is regarding Eve providing a trading update? I would much rather they were focused on the operational side of the business rather than a trading update, which is a timely and expensive distraction at this time of the year...in my opinion!
@Max19 - where can I get this information?
"Looking ahead uncertainty over Brexit and a trade deal with the EU remains. The Company
has to the extent possible put in place mitigations, which centre effectively on separate and
local supply chains for its UK and French operations. These are already operating effectively
and accordingly are not expected to result in higher costs. " - as per the interims, so we're all good on that front!
@Wyndrum - Tell me about it! Wish I was still working in the consumer goods space and had better analytical tools at my disposal haha
I also share your views regarding inventory - the anecdotal evidence seems to be pointing towards supply chain issues / extremely conservative working capital management. Boots STILL has "Stock coming soon" on a number of items which I find surprising and a tad worrying
My main concern is that their luxury proposition may not be that appealing given current economic climate. That said, those who are managing to work from home have more money than ever with a lack of commuting, no post work drinks / dinners, no holiday etc .
Agreed! From recent results it looked like the effectiveness of marketing is improving - I'm just surprised not to have seen anything whatsoever. In such a fragmented market I would have expected more visibility - early days.
As you say, she has a very impressive marketing CV so I trust that she knows what she's doing. Results will hopefully reflect that :)
I seem to be getting A LOT of Simba adverts on Youtube videos. I think it's because every morning I google Eve share price so they think I'm interested in buying a mattress.
Very disappointed in the lack of Eve marketing - I haven't seen anything. I understand there is a campaign in the works as per the most recent update?
