I am from the PV/energy storage industry, this is a potentially game changing for redT... This is as real as they come... Pivot Power are already building 2 x 50MW lithium only sites (take a look at their website) and plan to build 10's more over the next 5 years. GLA
Well with the fact that no one seems interested in this stock at all this IMHO could be one of two things... i) The £ values are still very small on these trades, so could be shop floor staff topping up as they know due dilligence is being played out (i.e. factory visit) ii) If a prior bidder is still circulating maybe there prior bid was in $ or Eur hence now that bid would be materially higher in £ and maybe it has more chance of getting over the line... This all IMHO...
So Q4 is essentially when REDT becomes a functioning commercial entity... If the first smaller unit is in place in October to show clients/investors etc. and the other follow on units roll out during rest of Q4 then we should see a steady flow of orders commencing in December/January... So 2016 is when this business really comes alive... This of course all IMHO! Thanks CCE for the update, good to see progress... Please keep the news flow coming now, would be great to hear the locations of where the first units are going! Hoping NDA's etc are not preventing this data being released.
Just realised I was beating up on the CCE guys early... LOL! Just checked my old post after Intersolar/ees Europe and they told me expect implementations in Q4 2015... Not September... Anyhow no excuses CCE Q4 is only 3 days away and we still need an update on progress please!
Agreed GW... When will any of the first systems be delivered?
Let's see if we get any meaningful update tomorrow when CEO & CFO are presenting the first 6 month results... It's well over 3 months since I caught up with REDT at Intersolar/ees Europe and back then I was told the first units would be being installed in September!!?? REDT really need to show field proven working commercial systems to get this ship out of dry dock and sailing...
Agreed, this has been nailed to the bottom for so long any half decent news should see a nice push higher.
£50M that's sporty! :-) From the limited research I have done there are a lot of people chasing the vanadium flow battery market, Gildermister seem to have been around the longest with working systems and appear to be the most advanced from a market presence perspective... REDT are definitely ahead of most of the pack, but the basic vanadium flow tech is no secret... Until REDT have deployed the first units the company is not worth anywhere near £50Mn (IMHO)... Once the REDT tech is proven etc... Then maybe a valuation of around £20Mn to £30Mn but I would say that's a few years away.
Not sure if the following sheds any more light than previously discussed on this forum... I met some of the REDT team at the Energy Storage Event/Intersolar - Munich a few weeks back and this is what they had to say... Had a good chat with Sir John and Chris (Sales Director) of REDT, both very knowledgeable guys who have a lot of experience... Got some great insight into the Gigha and SA system via the case studies that I was given. The supply and implementation of the Gigha System, SA Eco Hotel system & the 10 customer production units will be taking place in Q4 2015... The first small systems appear to have been already allocated with maybe only a few smaller systems still available (this aligns with Scott - CEO's announcements of 5 units committed back in Jan + the green acorn unit) so I would estimate any new orders will be after the first batch of units are made... So if the existing commitments are all being delivered in Q4 what is availability on new orders... Are we talking Q1 2016... As for pricing, the Sales Director said it's very much application specific and the amount of energy storage makes a huge difference in the price per kWh. I pushed for an indication and was given a price of $1000.00 per kWh for a typical system... As I have said before IMHO price and availability are key...
New to LSE, have held this stock for a few months now... agree with you guys, the newsflow is so bad something must be in the pipeline...
GW I have been involved in sales for well over 2 decades and concur with your statement if in a mature business with established markets and products... REDT is just starting from a commercial point of view and having read some history this afternoon I NOW see the Sales Director has only been at REDT for 5 months... Being a person who started in UK PV before FiT's I am aware of the hard challenges that lay ahead for a sales person in that environment... KEY TO SUCCESS: A price point that makes commercial sense (so reasonable payback) and product on reasonable lead times... If you don't have these your not selling anything... IMO
So CEO and CFO are doing a first class job, so as GW raises is the weak link the Sales Director at REDT...?
CFO made purchase this week of shares at market prices, CEO took 7,000,000 in options at 0.01Euro in Jan.
Well I'll be asking him (if he is there!) some direct questions at the ees event at Intersolar next week...
Thanks Ray, does anyone know how many directors Camco/REDT have? I am guessing a number of these director titles are just that 'titles'.... I assume the real board consists of some key persons, obviously Scott McGregor CEO and Jonathan Marren CFO... any others?
Recently bought into Camco due to REDT, have read some of the commentary and decided to join lse.co.uk as there is some detailed historical knowledge from you all... Very impressed with graham-wales and his straight forward opinions. It appears REDT are exhibiting at the ees Europe exhibition in Munich June 10th thru to 12th - https://www.ees-europe.com/en/home.html The ees Europe exhibition runs at the same time and location as Intersolar Europe the largest pan European Solar PV exhibition of the year... Great place to exhibit (so good choice by REDT) I am attending Intersolar so will drop in and meet the REDT team on the stand/booth... Also noticed that REDT are present at an innovation session the day before June 9th (link below), it clearly states that a Graeme Ludlow , Commercial Director , Redt is speaking... Does that mean the previously mentioned Sales Director has already been shown the door? http://www.ees-europe.com/de/programm/allgemeine-informationen/programm/session-details.html?tx_intersolarconference_pi1%5Bsession%5D=949&tx_intersolarconference_pi1%5Baction%5D=details&tx_intersolarconference_pi1%5Bcontroller%5D=Session&cHash=b182d24f510d4cca5b9a240d4a3a7522&print=1
