WW - Like those who thought Van de Velde would win in 1999!
Well pretty much as predicted by the rig pigs and would appear to re affirm that HUR do read the board by making specific reference to BOP by giving it it's full title for SIPPn00b! After considering that this is two completions rather than two exploratory drills, dIdn't really expect this particular announcement to shift the SP significantly, despite it being suggested otherwise previously.
I had suggested previously that BOP end of well maintenance would take circa 10 days but that is a ballpark and could very easily go past that timescale depending on workscope and how tests go. I know that BOP was up on 15 May so it is nearly 2 weeks since that event. Works for end of well maintenance should be back charged to Repsol. Any OIM/STP worth their salt will be trying to minimise downtime if it is costing Transocean any part of a dayrate. It should be remembered that other work won't stop until BOP maintenance is complete. Unless there was a test package onboad, there are things that could be happening in the interim for which HUR or maybe Repsol may be charged a rate. Rigging up a test package and associated rig cool, picking up pipe, maybe lay out tubing. As for jigging a rig, never heard that term, "skidding" from the safe handling area I assume is what you meant!
Soolsker - Apparently she’s up.
Soolsker - Aye, will do. Remember BOP may have been in drink for best part of 6 months and will require end of well maintenance circa 10 days as she’ll probably be split. Moon pool will be flooded with Transocean and third party Sub Sea personnel to ensure this goes as quickly as possible.
ADUK - Cleary Shaw is still bugging you by your attempts at getting someone to cough!
Blackford Dolphin is not a Transocean Rig. What I have just noted is that on the PETS Portal under Well Intervention Operation for 2018, an entry has appeared recently for Petrofac at Lancaster for consent to locate Transocean Spitsbergen. Very Strange entry with the submission date as 01/05/18 and completion date 08/05/18. May obviously be an admin error. Also AM has consent to locate approved.
Surprised no discussion about B2Duthie comment for commissioning Nov/Dec. Pretty sure he may be up to speed. Anyone any idea how long for this part of the jigsaw?
Should have kept this for the weekend but what the heck. Is Hurricane/Lancaster the real 'Field of Dreams' 'If you build it, he will come.' Should probably be they and they are. 'So, what do you want?' 'I want them to stop looking to me for answers, begging me to speak again, write again, be a leader. I want them to start thinking for themselves. I want my privacy.' Could refer to a few on this BB! 'Is this heaven?' 'It's it's Iowa.' (Should read Hurricane) 'I could have sworn it was heaven.' 'Is there a heaven?' 'Oh, yeah. It's the place where dreams come true.' 'Maybe this is heaven.' Well maybe this is!
Sulsgeir - Fair to say more taxi than train from from May? (Disruptions on line)
ADUK - I am aware of your past employment and hence the cheap dig! Probably forgot about the big bucks Completions Supervisor in pre-ops. If they weren't all planning to be at the meetings they will be now, remembering HUR read the BB for contributors advice!
ADUK - "But I'd hate the idea of the crews going over Lancaster with a complacent attitude and thinking they're 'just' going to do a couple of 'lightweight' recompletions. Hopefully Dr T will get 'hands on' again for a bit, just to make sure that's understood. ....And I never thought I'd find myself writing something like that. But I have..." Me neither! No need for the DSV and his circa 1,500 a day then! Think your concerns will be more than discussed at pre Spud meetings with crews, which will likely also include CEO, DSV, OIM & STP. Calm down.
Sulsgeir - Recent conversation +/- 3rd week in May to Burghead for 7-10 days then to Lancaster. Not from a Taxi Driver!
WW - Best wishes from a fellow Taurean. The Bull represents a strong-willed character with great perseverance and determination!
ADUK - 'The only slight bother for me (because I want to keep my views balanced) is the rig itself. And we simply don't know what she's been doing for Repsol. That's closed up tighter than a duck's ********. And instead of being in Invergordon last November for maintenence, she's remained at sea.' It's not that tight. This is not really the place to discuss what happened to SS' well and the rate PBLJ was drilling at, as this is not , as has been pointed out today by the BB Police, specifically relevant to HUR. I can see that your ****ed at not knowing what happened with SS though! Ha ha.
On a lighter note would just like to share one experience I had several years ago working offshore alongside two graduates who were Trainee Drilling Engineers for a large Oil Company. New to their roles, their task was to strap (measure) 9 5/8" casing and prepare the tally prior to it being run. Pretty basic stuff to read a measuring tape, write down the lengths and do some simple arithmetic. I was to assist them by painting the joint number and joint length on the casing. One of the guys asked if I would paint the joint numbers first starting at number 1 and so on before he measured. I point blank refused. The guy asked again and I again refused and could see he was becoming a bit annoyed and I was waiting for the seniority card to be played bearing in mind his position and mine as a deck rat. I asked the guy to chalk on the joint number and length and then I would paint the numbers. He was not having it and more or less demanded that I started painting the joint numbers. It was not until I explained that should I paint the joint numbers first, when he went to measure he would get wet paint on his steel tape. I could see the penny finally drop! Needless to say he took my advice. I could say that the guys were intelligent but had no common sense but that may not be fair. I would however say experience is just as valuable as pieces of paper.
From Final Results RNS 'The vessel remains on track for sail away to the field by the end of Q3 2018.' From Page 11 Results Presentation - 'Target for sail-away from Dubai remains end 3Q with arrival in Rotterdam ~6 weeks later' Don't know if commented on previously but to me this is either poorly written, conflicting or deliberate to laugh at debates on BB! If transit to the field is in the same context as PBLJ then the Sail-away from Dubai will have to be around mid to end of July. We also have the 'summer' weather window to catch.
Extract from Final Results RNS. 'Furthermore, the Xmas tree systems are ready for loading onto the rig for the EPS well completions. The Group has contracted Transocean's Paul B. Loyd Jr., a harsh environment semi-submersible rig for this work. Loading of the rig, transit to field and commencement of well completion operations is expected to take place in Q2 2018.' Appears they do read our, will they, won't they debates!
