Pretty sure blending oil has been around as long as blended whisky. Helps get rid of the poor stuff you can't shift as in pump it as well as sell it.
Surprised they've not been doing it from the start to optimize fluids.
As long as they get the ratios right and keep a close eye on it. Also got to remember not all buyers are looking to fuels. So point of mixing might restrict the ones looking for heavier oil.
But should put more cash in the bank.
