The only thing going for it is the fertilizer side leading to possibly lower food prices in the future. Have we seen that play a part in any decision for any government in the last 10 years? Not according to our shopping bill. Neither require labour at any great scale after build. Data centers will require a bigger internet backbone and therefore provide benefits to all businesses and people.
Why are people just mentioning the unions? It wasn't just them, it was people within the government, universities and professional bodies. All were going to file legal challenges in the supreme court.
Last thing I want anywhere are AI data centers. They are not good for anyone or anything. Do I have faith in a political class that looks after the least able to feed themselves, no.
As for institutional investors in Atome, many are also involved in on both side with the IDB and IFC been long time promoters of data centers as driving growth and have invested heavily in many projects, 10x compared to Atome.
