I did and other towns too. Having regard to Ennis, Clarecastle is just about to lose 270 well paying jobs and there is a branch in Shannon airport that is open 365 days a year. As a matter of fact there are four banks in Ennis and that is one for every 14,000 people. Shannon is about 10 or so miles down the road so what do they want two branches in such a small area for. On top of this there are also branches in towns like Kilkee and Kilrush. That's nuts. Fermoy has no major employment and is dependent on agriculture and we know where that is headed. Cork city is a half hour up, the motorway as is Mitchelstown. On top of this there are post offices in all these small towns so why can they not have access to the banking infrastructure ? I suggest its because the unions may have thinking on that.

Not so sure, banking model needs major surgery.

Too many branches in towns like Fermoy, Macroom, Gort, Ennis, Bantry etc. that are a social service, these all need to go and the cost of such surgery will be huge. Also competition in the sector hotting up. Why are we seeing so many independent companies placing atm's in strategic locations ?
