Hi - I am knew to this so really don't see the obvious lol - why has this risen so much today, because a director has bought?

somebody here said they dont have any assets, shops are all leased and may be committed for some time, planes are probably all leased and wouldn't want to sell those, but dunno

and there is always rights issue??? what was the actual fall today 4%?

i think it will bob about now where it is , bound to be more announcements coming, shop closures (a lot), redundancies, new chief exec, half year but analysts will be hesitant after these results, so no major raises for 12 months - imo

i hope my pension funds hasn't got this dog in it

as an analyst that would be my humble opinion, but then with all that debt who would want it? other than the airline which i do think is a good prospect , particularly with a lot of rivals dropping out of the market.

i have followed these shares a long time as i used to be an investor and still despite my misgivings held out some hope that all the promises were going to deliver, i have never registered as this is not my thing. I don't normally add my view.

Just got so frustrated seeing people make comments that were not based on any evidence and losing their money. Have tried to add some facts and analysis of numbers is all.

Will be interesting to official statistics on holidays in 2018 when they are finally released and see if they stack up.

annual report shows a lot of these Special costs to do with new deals they have made so more financial commitments that are not easy to get out of

he /she is not an individual, he/she writes for a reputable paper , therefore individuals will trust more than you or I that opinion and may lose all their money, the article is amateur shows no basis for the opinion - why would you invest in a company that makes huge losses has huge debts and each year makes pathetic excuses , hot weather?, selling shops (that they decided to buy) etc , forecasts say that our summers are getting hotter - so results will be worse

Completely agree, who is lending them all this cash when clearly they have no make no money to pay it off, haven't done so in a decade and show no signs in future

I am surprised the Times is recommending "buy" yes can see huge costs coming when they have to sell more shops, which is clearly inevitably (am amazed they still exists) i have booked my holidays online for past 20 years (so clearly am no youngster)

My brexit comment was based on wondering if a large proportion of TC holidays are outside EU i know a lot of sales are Turkey and Egypt and presumably US and carribbean/Mexico etc, but yes lots of other factors with Brexit - also as a service company they will not be impacted by import duties like manufacturing companies

imo brexit is lower down on their much more fundamental problems (weak or is that useless management ? legacy business models and costs everywhere - they do like to spend money)

Dart and TUI accounts look like accounts should look for healthy well run companies

Not sure Brexit is an issue TBH - if they do turn stuff around it will be what 3 years and their record at doing this in past 10 yrs is abysmal, HG started something (massive cost cutting - think austerity) and look how long she lasted.

imo it was overprice - just look at PE ratio before up at over 60 way too high, TUI is still lower and shares are £12 each
there have been excuses for 10 years - the last time company made a decent profit,
If this company had started 10 yrs ago it would still not be in the black and still has a lot of these legacy issues to sort out, plus it is investing heavily with money it just does not have to try and increase the revenues (this growth is coming at too high a cost) Potentially another 600 shops to close ???? redundancies all cost ££££

yeah they will sell off airline and rest of it will disappear
