If Burnham does win, and then does become PM, I expect him to roll back on a number of sallies he is reported to have said in the past. Remember Vince Cable when he was in opposition and then when he was in power ?

I don't expect any ''deal'' between Iran and The United States of Israel to last and I don't expect Andy Burnham to impose a windfall tax on the Banks if he were to become PM.

Forgot to mention in my last missive, what a fan I was of Vince Hilaire back in the day. Would love to see more players like him in modern football. I will eat humble pie if the shareprice hits £7 this year. I will even resign my position on the board if you wish me to do so. Heck Councillor Whiteknight you could even call for a motion of no confidence in Quilp.

Yes, I see why you and others would call for £7 plus, but there are just too many reasons why this won't be allowed to happen. The illegal United States of Israel war on Iran has to stop, and like him or loathe him ( I loathe him ) Starmer has to stay put for a while longer. Then and only then might we break bread together.

Motley fool has a variety of differing opinions. Some love Natwest, others not so. It's what makes it a worthwhile read. If you want an echo chamber, just filter all those who think the share price is set to fall over the next few months.

I have learned a lot more from listening to other points of view, often people I disagree with. Going through my old posts trying to ascertain an ulterior motive on my part, is futile, but if it helps you to come to terms with someone who seems matters differently, by all means......

I agree with you Hardup, but the fact is there is an Iran war, and I don't see how this ends well for anyone. Thousands of innocent people have lost their lives for no good reason. Trump is a warmonger and should go to jail.

Can anyone see how this war ends and when ? Will Natwest then get back to £7 ? I can only think that the longer this war carried on the more likely this share ( and others ) are set to fall.

We can only hope that sense prevails - free trade, falling oil prices, falling inflation, falling interest rates, innovation across technology parks, lower taxes on businesses and individuals.

Given your recent track record WhiteKnight i'd keep a low profile if I were you. Better to have people think you might be a poor investor, rather than you open your mouth and confirm it.

I suggested this year was more likely to hit £5 than £8. The hubris that came my way was like a wall of anger. But facts speak for themselves. I think i'll let the share price speak for myself. Like I said there is nothing more certain than the FTSE going below 10000 and the share price following below £5.50. Geopolitical events, Starmer's distinct inability to lead, inflation, a potential bond crisis. What else is there ? How could this not end badly ? WhiteKnight - Rather than embarrassing yourself further, you should take a closer look at the Share Price.

You had a melt down the last time someone suggested it would hit £5. Quite clearly, investing isn't for you.

If it's ''glaringly cheap'' why has it lost almost 10% in just over a week ? Talk of ''8 quid'' from so called analysts. More likely to hit £5 than £8, but I would love to be proven wrong.

In fact I would settle for the year high at this point.

2) How do you know there will be anyone better

3) How many lives will be lost, and will you be there risking your life ? Or perhaps your children ?

4) How long will all this take ?

6) Do you conclude all this is necessary when waiting in line for fuel that is about to run dry ?

7) Are you prepared to accept much higher food prices et al ?

8) Bond yields are beginning to spike to towards levels last seen in 2008 ? Do you really want to go there again ?

To some extent I agree with you. What's more of interest to me is that despite it's dominant market position here in the UK, it's relative profitability is decidedly underwhelming.

I have made some sensible decisions over the last twelve months, but i'm out of this share now. What a terrible decision is was to invest in this share. Now over 12% down from its November high inspite of profits set to be at the top end of expectations and a decade high leading market share. Even Sainbury's are up as we speak.

Sometimes you have to cut your losses and run.
