Fare point but when has a politician let a good argument stand in their way, be it true or not.
TRAFFIC CAUSING EXCESS POLLUTION IN PORTUGAL
Thanks Strides a good read.
Another article from the paper shows the above.
I would have thought this would have an imprtant political interest with politicians adding
this to their argument for supporting the mine.
Thank you Starfox. An interesting read that has boosted my optimism that this will go ahead. Unless of course a certain Russian
decides to take on the world.
Thanks damonhil for an interesting read.
Of course, there are exceptions to the rule. Namely: if a target company's stock price recently plummeted due to negative earnings, then being acquired at a discount may be the only path for shareholders to regain a portion of their investments back. This holds particularly true if the target company is saddled with large amounts of debt, and cannot obtain financing from the capital markets to restructure that debt.
I am 72, and very much a novice when it comes to investing but enjoying the ride. Perhaps take a moment to reflect on the positive helpful response from CM and reflect on your less than helpful comment.
Thanks CM, think i was simply feeling a little naffed off after 5 years of waiting and the news that Andrew Marr is leaving has not helped. Oh well, upwards and onward.
I would normally agree CM. However, after all these years i am beginning to think SAV are being set up for sale.
I harboured the view that Cop26 would be the defining moment when Portugal could show the way to Europe, when the message would be put forward that the green light of success would be seen as a beacon of sense and sensibility..
I struggle to comprehend what is holding up the decision, surely by now a decision has been made and the question is..... what is denying the publication of the result.
I am but a junior when placed alongside you grown ups. But having £30000 invested in this project i am looking very closely at the options, one of which is pull out before it all dissapears.
I agree CM useful source of info, thanks IB.
Read the other attached articles and the more i read the more confused i became.
I am now unsure if the funding from the EU is relevant to the opening of the mines? If so, there could be a large deficit from the already shaky finance situation of Portugal if the project does not go ahead.
It seems to me the published articles precede the possibility of a closed parliament. If this does occur, then surely the potential investor major companies are unlikely to want to accept the risk and would look to other options available to them.
I would welcome your comments.
I think that DA has all the areas covered and the paperwork neatly filed away.
With Cop 26 underway in a few weeks, perhaps Portugal want stage presence to announce their support
by explaining how they intend to comply and how they are showing the way in Europe..
This would be an enormous feather in their cap and an ideal opportunity to praise D.A. for his valued support for the programme and his expertise in mining.
Or have simply awakened from a dream.
Given all the attention being generated ( no pun intended), i feel the Portuguese are gong to find it very difficult not to support what is a global effort to reduce Co2. Notwithstanding their domestic finance issues, which will be improved by the mining operations. I have a very warm felling that I can now relax and look forward to a good Christmas.
Just had a quicklook at the share price, a lot of buying, is there something we can look forward to?
Lots of buys today! Something we should know??
Thanks Starfoxx.
I have done some further digging ( no pun intended), relating to the Portuguese style of management from a perspective of their culture.
An important issue for us.
If you are interested, look up google 'Background to Business in Portugal"
It shows an interesting insight into their approach to change and the current thinking.
I agree with your opinion regarding the E.U. They are desperate at the moment to show their strength. The recent global rain catastrophes has increased focus on reducing co2. China seem to be hoovering up as much lithium as they can.
Additionally, Portugal has a very poor financial balance combined with a need to create employment opportunities.
I feel the EIA will be resolved this side of Christmas and we will see positive movement.
I have been with Sav for 5 years so a couple of months more is not too onerous a wait.
I agree tony, 5 years for me and still hopeful.
whoops, I must pay more attention.
Thanks

Will you bright stars out there please explain what this is about.
Interesting to note a ? severance from Galp.
Having read the BB comments I was concerned this may have been DA shielding his options as the loss of Galp, in my opinion, is a big issue with a possible red flag.
Once more a poor presentation, not at all confident.
However the upside is the buys to today are quite impresive.
What unearth is going on?
Interesting read.
A lot of information.
Am I right in thinking the there is a desire to have EU suppliers, despite the enormous production in Chile and China?
I do not think we are in a position to oust the big suppliers but there does seem opportunity to have a local supply as they may be more cost effective due to the transport cost. If this is the case, then surely SAV are in a very good position?
Just watched the SAV presentation.
My take:.....
1. I am sure the CEO knows everything there is to know about getting stuff out the ground successfully.
2 However, he is extremely poor at these events and I found myself nodding off listening to him. Far too many pause fillers, too much hesitation when asked a question. A few other small issues. All of which gives a position of uncertainty about the project.
3. He has pointed a communications manager, perhaps he should put her up for answering the questions having briefed her appropriately.
4. He gave a clear intent it would seem, to separate SAV from the Moz venture. His words were to remove from the mother ship.
I should think we all know the importance of believability, if you have confidence in the man/woman at the top, there is an air of certainty.
He did say, when asked about the SP, that the EIA is holding down the price and he sees this improving once the EIA has been given the green light.
During my career I have really seen the CEO give presentations unless they had full confidence in their performance. Each to his own as the saying goes. I have seen excellent communicators give the presentation with the CEO available to address any difficult issues.
i am sure there will be differing opinions about this. Simply my persecutive on how it appears to me.
