Last recorded period net immigration was 906,000

About 380,000 were paying students.

A large number were on work visas.

These have been cut back severely.

The number of people who come in on the boats is by memory around 40,000 a year.

Around 92% of those are not illegal and are granted asylum, although this takes far too long.

So that means about 3,200 a year who are illegal.

We are currently deporting more than that, as we are catching up with the backlog.

The last time I looked at the actuarial data, we required about 250,000 immigrants a year .

Germany required 400,000 a year.

This is up to 2045, and asumes no indigenous increase beyond 1-2%.

So I agree immigration is too high.
