Agreed Miagi, but my post was with Solgold in mind.
We are not what I would call a small company.
Yes if the free float is low, you are correct, but as we can see, it's not low enough.
We need volume, as with volume, that means people are looking at us, wherever they trade or take a long term position.
I really don't like using comparisons, and GGP is not a good one, but once volume decreases in GGP. The share price, will float about, and will lose its liquidity.

I said that volume, gives a more accurate price, as it allows sellers and buyers, to participate.
Hence it has nothing to do with the current SP.
However to make it really really simple for you.
Lack of volume, means an illiquid market, and thus you don't get the interest.
So small movements, do not shift the price much in either direction.

Hi DBW, that's a hard question, as 40% of the NPV at PFS, would be the equation a lot would use.
I would argue that Solgiold is a special case, because the 40% of NPV, would be for a company, that would have trouble finding the funding to build the infrastructure, and Mine.
Hence I value Solgold higher than others.
But I will try to answer your question in a loose fashion.
So if the PFS comes in at 7 billion pounds, not dollars.
Then 100% of NPV is over 3 pounds a share, now I don't think we would get that, but 50% of that would be around 1.50, which is your question.
So I must answer you, by saying 1.50 is not low ball, but I would be disappointed.

I never mentioned that, but you are correct. I also suspect you are aware, if no competitive bids, that in the real world, this can be used as a defense.
I have many years of investing expertise, and that is, if you like my claimed knowledge. I remember the argument on here , that I said not all bids, have to made public. I know this to be untrue, and decided not to argue it any further, as people posted stuff off the internet, that said all firm offers, have to be made public. I am aware, that many barriers can be put in the way, to avoid a firm offer being made, so again didn't argue the point.

addicknt, I know you have never said that. Hopefully you recognize that I have also said, that your idea, of how a bid could be proffered, I accept. I have been consistent.
Your point on any bidder not revealing their hand, I also accept. However that does not stop companies talking to NM, and testing the waters, and maybe even putting a bid forward. My recent post, was alluding to, yes a hostile bid, could happen, but it would be at the high end, and where I believe we differ, is I don't believe such a bid could happen, whereas you do.

Miagi , maybe the holes you see, are because you believe a bid is coming. I have said many times, that we have no evidence for this. I have heard people say, that no one can bid, without knowing BHP's position. This is obviously wrong, as anyone can talk to NM and see what he would recommend. I going to add something on this post, which is evident to me, but maybe people who think a bid is coming, may have overlooked.
If a friendly bid with NM is agreed, then Solgolds BOD recommend it, and the chances are it goes ahead.
However if a hostile bid occurs, then the bidder, has no more information, then that in the public domain. Due diligence does not take place for a number of reasons.
That means a hostile bidder, has to bid in the dark. This I believe is just one of the reasons, no one has gone hostile, and no one will. A bidder, will want to do due diligence and make sure that the costs and revenues are correct, from their point of view. Solgold is so hard to bid for, for so many reasons.
To me it has always made sense, that if anyone wants to buy Solgold, that they would talk to NM.

Zoros, sometimes the term Idiot doesn't do you justice, I have never said the SP has gone down on low volumes. I have said a market price cannot be achieved with low volumes. Every investor should know this. The price could be high or low, with low volumes, ours is currently low. We need high volumes to achieve a close spread, and ease buys and sells, this way a market price is based on what people are willing to buy at, and sell at.

Zoros the article you posted supports me read it. Volume is required for a market price, the fact that GGP has dropped on big volume, is an adjustment on market price. Maybe GGP is currently overvalued. ( I think so )
Volume has nothing to do with a single days movement. Continued volume, let's the market set a price. I have been doing this nearly 40 years. I know what I am talking about. I think you read from the internet, or a few investing books. There is a world of difference.

Miagi, not having significant volume, means a market price is never achieved. Low volume does not dictate a movement in one way or another. It just means that because a market price is never achieved, that any move up or down, is without substance, as no one says, price is low, we can buy, or price is high, we can sell.
Volume achieves this, with much closer spreads.
Zoros is wrong.

Sorry Redknight, I said all along explained why the gold price was overdone. Currencies have a habit of rebalancing, when the panic is over.

Zoros, you convict yourself of idiocy. At 10.20 you say that global markets are down and this has dragged Solgold down, and that I don't know what, I am talking about. Then 19 minutes later, you say Solgold are doing well. Sorry have global markets recovered in 19 minutes, or are you talking rubbish.

Zoros, your knowledge on such things is extremely low. Solgold is not widely traded, and the wider market has nothing to do with Solgold. So if the wider market falls, Solgold could go up or down.

At the risk of sounding boring, I am beginning to question if some posters, understand the basics. We are down or up, and encounter close swings. Because we have no volume. For those that don't understand what this means. Please do some research, as to why markets behave like this when a share has no volume. It is difficult to make a market.

Hi Jerry, I think Ecuador needs the money, and both parties will be pro mining. They also realize that mining, brings lots of other business with it. They I believe, won't do anything to frighten off inward investment. So not that I trust them, but I trust their motivation. They want tax payers dollars, and lots of them.

Earthling and Zoros, again you are lying, I never said the Minister of mining said no one could build the mine faster than Solgold. Again not reading or lying, your both as bad as each other.
I said there was a webinar that was discussed on here, that featured NM and the minister. NM explained why no one could build this faster than Solgold, and the minister agreed.

Schlemiel, let me set you a thought experiment.

Let's say you are right, and I am wrong. You need to explain why no one has bid for Alpala, up till now.
Saying people are waiting for BHP to be released makes no sense.
I say the reason is, they know that they would have to pay full value or close to it, as Solgold can be successfully defended. Now ask yourself, in those circumstances why would BHP bid ?
