As for the veracity of information on Borkena the Eithiopian news and opinion site, it looks like it's a one man band by someone called “Dimetros, Managing Editor,” the only named editorial role visible on-site.

A quick search revealed:

May 12, 2023 Borkena retracted a story about Eritrea and issued an apology, noting the report was “inaccurate and outrageous.” Signed by the managing editor.

Aug 31, 2021, The U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa accused Borkena of “false reporting” & asked for a retraction/apology regarding a story about TPLF & school destruction.

Dec 10, 2023 An article on Borkena includes a statement urging the site to retract a “falsely premised” op-ed; Borkena flagged that views in op-eds don’t necessarily reflect the site’s position.

Threatened legal action Mar 23, 2025, Samaritan’s Purse threatened legal action over a Borkena op-ed; this was reported by Borkena itself.

Now I don't profess to have any understanding in this area at all. I do recall Harry once stating it would be unlikely to happen, now I could have misremembered so I decided to ask Chatgpt. I think the following makes an interesting read:

Short answer: yes—KEFI Gold and Copper plc can be taken over. The group’s structure doesn’t prevent a bid for the UK-listed parent; an acquirer would simply inherit KEFI’s existing stakes in its project companies. What the structure does do is limit how much of each underlying project an acquirer would actually control, and in some cases government/JV consents would be needed for changes below the plc.

Here’s the practical breakdown (current as of 26 Aug 2025):

#1 KEFI Gold and Copper plc (the AIM-quoted parent)

• Takeover-able under the UK Takeover Code (applies to UK-registered AIM companies). UK boards can’t deploy US-style poison pills; frustrating actions need shareholder approval (Rule 21).

I believe that capture & store. They will collect/hold wet-season rainfall (June–Sept; ~1,800 mm/yr). A raw-water diversion dam will both feed the plant and divert excess runoff away from the tailings facility.

Apparently there will be a guaranteed backup via pipeline. They plan to install a pipeline from a major river to guarantee supply in dry periods. However the overview I read doesn’t name the river.

There will be return water from the tailings storage facility. And there has been mention of boreholes as part of the site water system.
