My research was clearly poor in that I had always pictured these flights being largely business funded and related: this 4th July week end record indicates that private use for holidays etc is also a major factor. Great! And interesting...

Tristel have done wonderfully, they've more than doubled my investment, and as below I like the tie up with MODT, but I have one little niggle in the back of my mind whenever I think of them. They seem to me to have only one string to their bow: chlorine dioxide in it's various applications. I get that it's good stuff, but I wonder how they got hold of this patent without some kind of R&D, but of that we hear almost nothing. Are they working on the successor to chlorine dioxide? Or looking to complement their disinfectant technology with anything else? The only mention I can find of R&D in the RNS file is a line in last years accounts: "Enhanced relief on qualifying scientific research expenditure. (136) (82)" Those refer in £thousands to tax relief amounts in 2016 and 2015 respectively. I don't know at what rate relief is given and hence what costs they refer to, and especially what kind of research this is. I suspect it will be into applications of chlorine dioxide, rather than looking beyond it. Maybe I'm being stupid, maybe it is such a good product that there is no need to look further and far the most positive thing is to concentrate on wider applications. It may be that any rival products, or loss of efficacy, would take a long time be established and the TSTL would have a long time still doing effective work and to look at alternative ways forward. I don't know. Can anyone enlighten me?

Trades page shows a lot of sells going through, mainly at 115.9. But in spite of all those sells the price is not dropping any further, and I just BOUGHT a small holding also at 115.9. So I'm hoping it's stabilised. Is anyone still here, or all gone? Battered and bruised...... I get that.

I'm not a holder here, but wondering whether if I was it would be time to get out, or is it for me a great buying opportunity? Above all, do you think everything is out in the open?

It's great that they give us so much detail as to where they are at and what the prospects are. Surely such openness is a good sign. This looks good to me as well: "These delayed sales however have not been lost. At 31 May 2017, the Company had retrofit and near-OEM customers orders of £770k and customer commitments for sales for delivery in the new financial year for £119k. This £889k total pipeline is the highest visibility of next year sales the Company has ever had (31 May 2016: £427k)." More than double. And they are expanding capacity. Plus - though I know nothing about this kind of thing at all - the 2nd RNS confirming that the new shares have been placed, less than 5 hours after the offer was opened, looks great to me. Any more informed comments? :) !

Wasn't letting me add anything to previous post. I like this: 1. A strategic tie up into what could become a huge field. 2. Great marketing of the product. 3. A place on the board. 4. Diversification. 5. Potential to do a lot of good in the world. 6. Tie up with Orbimed: who (a) manage Biotech Growth(BIOG) Trust and Worldwide Healthcare Trust(WWH), nearly £2billion of funds, up over 7X in 10 years and 3X in 5 years respectively SO THEY REALLY KNOW THEIR STUFF, (b) may also want to make or increase any holdings in Tristel, and (c) they will also be well worth getting to know. It will be in Orbimed's interest that Tristel does well, and if anyone can advise, they can. Nice!

Tristel makes a strategic investment in Mobile ODT, an Israeli company that is combining smartphone technology with hand-held medical devices for point-of-care diagnostics Tristel plc (AIM: TSTL), the manufacturer of infection prevention products, announces that it has made a US$750,000 investment in Mobile ODT ("MODT") an Israeli company that is combining smartphone technology with hand-held medical devices to make diagnostics available at the point-of-care (www.mobileodt.com). Tristel is taking a 3.27% equity stake. Francisco Soler, Chairman of Tristel, and Paul Barnes, NED, are also making personal investments in the fund raising, for which the lead investor is Orbimed Healthcare Advisors (www.orbimed.com). MODT has raised total funding of approximately US$10.7 million. Tristel will have a seat on the MODT board of directors. MODT has developed the proprietary EVA System, a smart-phone based medical device, which enables any healthcare provider, anywhere in the world, to examine patients for indications of cervical cancer using a technique known as colposcopy. The product was approved by the USA FDA in 2016. The EVA System is especially relevant in lesser-resourced healthcare settings as it is significantly less expensive than the traditional examination device (colposcope). Furthermore, it is portable and self-contained, and enables consultation with medical experts who may be located remotely from the examination site. Tristel's Duo high-level disinfectant foam is the perfect partner for EVA - as it is portable and self-contained, has no requirement for water or power supply, requires no maintenance, and can be used with minimal training. Duo is an eminently affordable disinfection option. Tristel and MODT intend to combine EVA and Duo into an integrated offer to healthcare providers, with the MODT App enabling healthcare providers to ensure compliance with best disinfection practice. The EVA System requires high-level disinfection given the area of the anatomy the device examines, and very importantly must be disinfected by a chemistry that can destroy HPV (Human papilloma virus). HPV is responsible for 5% of all cancers worldwide, 99.5% of cervical cancers, and is a leading cause of oral, throat, anal and genital cancers in both women and men. Whilst HPV is widely believed to be sexually transmitted, numerous studies have shown that the virus also exists on gynaecological equipment. Duo has recently been proven in pioneering work by Dr Craig Meyers PhD, Distinguished Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey, USA to be effective in deactivating HPV 16 and 18 strains in a two-minute contact time. RNS: "Submission to EPA & subsidiary incorporated in USA Tristel incorporates a wholly-owned subsidiary in Delaware, USA, and makes a submission to the Environmental Protection Agency for its Duo chlorine dioxide disinfection foam Tristel plc (AIM: TSTL), the manufacturer of infection prevention products, announces that it has established its presence in the United States by incorporating a wholly-owned subsidiary in the State of Delaware. This initiative is part of the Company's stated intention to enter the North American infection prevention market. This plan was unveiled in the Company's preliminary results announcement in October 2015. In pursuit of this plan, on 30 June 2017 Tristel made a submission for regulatory clearance by the Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA") of its Duo chlorine dioxide disinfection foam. The Company expects to receive approval in the second half of its financial year commencing 1 July 2017. Following EPA federal approval, the Company will then need to secure state-by-state approval before it can commence selling Duo. The EPA clearance will enable Duo to claim intermediate disinfection of all non-porous surfaces, including those of medical instruments. I do try to look at the numbers, but I find I do not trust what I come up with very much. Sometimes with good reason! Trouble is, I have been waiting for another miner, WLFE, to live up to its promise.. with no success. Good night.

Thanks for that, R. Interesting those figures from the last 4 years. I'm only slowly learning about figures, but I find it encouraging to see that while the revenue has risen 37%, the operating profit has more than doubled, and the underlying PBT more than tripled. My guess is that's good! Especially since in the same 4 years the SP is down from 365 to 177, i.e. 51%. Just glad I bought now, not then. You could say that in terms of PBT it is 6 times better value.

Been reading back down the comments with a view to investing. I judge a share in part by the quality of the discussion on the board. While bitterness and name calling is a terrible sign, constructive comment on both the positive and negative aspects of the share is fine - and helpful to me. I'm a small investor, not very experienced, and not very good at especially the numbers side of research. Boards that have people that are clearly good at that, and experienced, and open about the negatives, are both helpful and indicate more than my limited research skills can tell me about the company. There's only one way to learn, really, and that's to do it. So positive negative comments - if you get my meaning! - are great. Just not the bitter rubbish and name calling. This board has been helpful. I may miss a jump, but for now I'm holding off till we have that update. I like the resources, but you need good management too, and management that communicates well. Not sure of either yet.
