Like Basher I've picked up some nice plays from lse chat boards, including xtr and kefi. Most recently ORR and EUA. Just glanced through my accounts and am ashamed to admit over 100 individual stocks. (mostly very small positions). Overall nicely ahead despite a few dogs, must have major spring clean in case the prophets of doom are right about the impending crash. The play that just might make me rich is Reco, listed on Toronto exchange. (Recon I think in the US). Drilling now in Africa, possible major oil basin. DYOR. If comes back dry you lose your money, if at high end of forecasts I don't have enough fingers. Mentioned it before on lse, won't again. GLA with EUA.

Thought you might be a novice from your first reply, I usually wouldn't presume to give stock tips to strangers, the reply prior to yours triggered my a-hole alarm though. By incredible coincidence oilprice.com just ran another puff piece on recon, shares will be up again tomorrow. Still worth a look.

Hi Arfur, best advice is never take advice from from a share chat board. Or get involved in day trading. That said, I am reasonably optimistic about rockhopper, but not enough to recommend. If you wanted to gamble a small amount on an oil stock look at Reconnaissance Energy Africa. Oilprice.com did a bullish piece recently. I see it as a coin toss, you'll quite possibly lose your investment in 6 months, but if initial drilling gives positive results price will fly. Other than oil and mining I like financial sector for next year. Look at the financials for Investec.
