RE: Interesting report - Very similar to the lithium bubble27 Jul 2020 10:55
Thanks for the compliment Robinhood. No 7th sense just decided not to get greedy and have done really well out of Hydrogen the last five years.
It has become very speculative now when you see just how much future earnings are built into the current SP's. That article you posted should be an eye opener as to just how speculative it all is at the moment,. There is better value our there with less risk.
You will have noted I said £ 500,000 to £ 1,000,000 in liquid assets was my goal. I have never declared any of my other assets outside of stock here that also bear income, one being my business which will continue to give me income in retirement as I will continue to have an interest in it, and property. You don't work in construction all your life without investing in a bit of property, always a good long term security.
If my pension can give me £ 15,000 pa extra when I am 60 in 2024 I will be happy with that as it will mean I don't have to work as hard. I like my work so will never give up completely.
I wouldn't say I need to spend, spend, spend anymore, you get to the time in your life where you just about have everything you need so I don't foresee any major outlay for me in the years ahead.
You pick the right car and they can last you a good 20 years now if you look after them, I don't intend wanting to drive much into my 70's if I am lucky enough to get there.
I would say if you and your wife are both going to get a full state pension then £ 500,000 - £ 1,000,000 would suit the majority of people to have a comfortable retirement.
I guess we all have different ideas.
