Show me a technical analyst with several Ferraris and a country estate and I'll start taking it seriously.

Surely it's very unfair to expect our octagenarian leader to juggle at least four allegedly active public companies and actually monetise any of their projects? Time for the old chap to hang up his drill bits and sink back into his armchair and gently doze away his remaining years under a copy of the Racing Post.

Or perhaps this has already happened and he's forgotten to tell us?

Consensus forecasts for copper from major institutions:

Currently at $4.89.

Goldman Sachs has forecasted $9,330/ton ($4.23/lb) for 2025.

So unless you want to wait a couple more years, price seems more or less range-bound.

On this basis, you might argue that now's the time to do some catual monetisation deals. (I'm looking at you, Bird.)

Alternatively you might argue that it gives you opportunity to waste more time digging some more 'oles.

I'm hoping for the best.

(But experience tells me to expect the worst.)

Am I alone in thinking that Zenakine sounds like some sort of horrible bacterial weapon? If the Russians drones start dropping it in Ukraine, WW3 is a real likelihood.

Also thought I was investing in a genuine scientifically-based ingredient to reduce skin ageing, but it turns out it's being marketed as some sort of Horlicks substitute.

Of course the price of any stock is driven by "good old supply and demand". The whole point is that there is little or no demand for any stock associated with Bird.

This is hardly surprising given his unfulfilled grandiose claims, obscurantist announcements, and missed deadlines.

The latest coup of Mr Bird's career: with $220K in hand, just imagine the wonders we can accomplish!

And from the price action, the market is clearly falling over itself to fill its boots!

CHRI5P, that's a separate point (and a good one) but nothing to do with Bird's long silences. It shows that even when he produces good news the end result is price stagnation and shareholder impoverishment. Certainly, given the facts, the price should be significantly higher.

So the only other variable is Bird himself. The market simply doesn't take him seriously.

If this were a larger stock with activist institutional investors his performance wouldn't be tolerated. He would be out on his ear after the Concordia and Star Zinc debacles.

In Birdland, no news is bad news.

Ah, the old "need to bring large copper projects like the Mankayan Copper Gold project into production to meet the copper supply shortfall being faced by global markets" story Bird's been droning on about for no less than NINE years now.

So why doesn't he raise himself off his posterior and actually bring some into production? Anywhere in his vast empire of moribund companies?

It's interesting to see the process of disenchantment at GLR mirroring that of BZT. Watching Bird champions like Mr Triumph at BZT turn frustrated and grumpy and now his counterpart hairydavey following the same path here. iky786 of course turned long ago. Many have simply shuffled off, poorer but (hopefully) wiser.

Can even Analytical and Datacheck be far behind?

The problem is the Bird's inability to provide any shareholder value - in fact, producing the reverse - while spouting technical jargon masquerading as good news while blithely missing his own deadlines.

I suspect many unhappy shareholders are simply waiting for one of the occasional short-lived blips in the price to retire, slightly less wounded.

I tried various soaps, liquids, creams. And if they didn't work almost immediately - which they didn't - I gave up and reverted to avoiding mirrors. If this sachet treatment showed results in say, a week then fine. But if not, any future format will find the brand being tainted by failure.

Lemsip in a sachet statrts to work almost immediately. If AxisBiotix is anything to go by, the acne treatment may take weeks or even months. Teenagers will give up on it within a few days. We are constantly told that the young are concerned with instant gratification. A good-tasting gum-chewing regime (is there such a thing?) is likely to be adhered to for longer.

Mr Bird is busy reading the Racing Post. Have a little consideration!

Not for the first time, I find myself wondering whether all Bird's companies simply exist to provide him with a director's income to see him through his twilight years.

I'm probably quite wrong.

Out of interest, what happens if this Wednesday's deadline passes with no announcement? Will the agreement be null and void?

As with all Bird shares, for prices to move significantly we need monetisation or the genuine, concrete prospect of it.

The market is sick of his fluff and minerspeak jargon. The Sunday Roast toadies are no longer any help either.

It's not so much jam tomorrow as wading through treacle.

Can't imagine any monetisation is imminent. Same old story - more drilling, more jam tomorrow.

I find myself frequently wondering if 'running' all these underperforming companies is more of a job for a younger man.
