RE: How confident?17 Mar 2022 10:50
That’s helpful - thanks, Croutom.
It’s can be tortuous dealing with governmental departments; for example, my planning consultant was confident that planning approval for my extension would be straightforward - yet despite its simplicity and comparatively small footprint, it has been the opposite: first, the planning officer contacted my consultant two weeks after it should have been approved (the council had had already had it for two months), and told him that public notices have not been displayed, to which he responded they have been there for two months, to which she responded she was unaware; second, after another two weeks, told him to remove the flat roof, which he replaced with a pitched one; third, after another two weeks, she demanded that a preliminary bat-survey be submitted because the new pitched roof disturbs the existing one, which has now resulted in a bat-emergence one to be conducted in early May, with the added risk that she may well request us to withdraw the application - because she thinks it’s taking an inordinate amount of time to submit the required docs - and resubmit it, starting the whole planning-application process again, even though she approves of the design in principle -needlessly costing me thousands of pounds. Absolutely illogical - without any common sense exercised.
