The company announced Aug. 5 that a report it commissioned from an independent consultant, Ryder Scott Company, found approximately 993.5 million barrels of oil in the reservoir, supporting its internal findings. ONLY A FRACTION OF THAT OIL IS RECOVERABLE with current technology.

“There’s really a misunderstanding between resources and reserves,” Arthur Millholland, COPL’s president and CEO, said during a call with investors on Aug. 8.

Reserves refer only to oil that can feasibly be extracted. The majority of the oil in the reservoir cannot.

The company’s internal analysis now indicates that the reservoir holds between 1.7 and 2.1 billion barrels of oil, higher than Ryder Scott’s findings. It expects wells to extract about 8-10% of that oil, or 133 to 207 million barrels, before the underground pressure falls too low.

Secondary oil recovery — injecting water or gas to raise that pressure and force more oil out of the ground — typically releases another 10-30% of a reservoir’s oil.

To the Gullible.....In view of the history, and the fact that JVs fail, and that a 'JV discussions' can mean anything -( simply could be a delaying tactics ... )and if there was a JV why have a consolodation (to prepare for placings)? I for one am not so positive one is coming at all, and the MMs agree.

Seahawk - how do you know the JV is ongoing?? whu would he be consolidating/most likely placing if this was the case? Do you know the history here?

Well Spotify, I have liked some of your posts but this one one is paranoia and foolishness at its best. Unable to understand or empathise with the Long term shareholders and dismissing their learned wisdom out of hand of hand is plain stupid and in itself misleading new investors. There is a lot to be said for trust and empathy:

Really its just not worth replying to the three wise monkeys of this board. So i wont.

I have seen your twitter feed and your incessant ramping there... and here. We will see who was right about this in time. Like many LTH'S i have no choice but to remain and hold - ss i'm sure you must be aware. I do have a choice over what is said here and i do have the freedom of speech to speak it as i see it. To be honest i cant believe that the person who wrote this is the CEO of a company . Maybe its not him, but if it is we have a 'd' grade child at the helm. Furthermore what is not said here is more important that what is said. NO mention of any JV. Would he have bothered writing this if a JV was imminent? NO. In the past money has slipped through his fingers like water. The same is happening as we speak. We all know what's coming. Vote no, and for gods sake remove him.

The problem is also that JV discussions could technically be one phone call every 3 months. How do you define JV discussions? Could all be a ploy to play for time.

Someone was asking about voting through Iweb. You can vote using the 'help and guidance' menu and 'contact us on line'. I voted no and remove AM. i strongly recommend everyone do the same. Its the last chance saloon.

If this is true then "Blackmaiing" the potential JV in this way would suggest a lack of confidence at this stage of the JV, either way it is not positive, professional negotiation.

It just reinforces my belief that there is no JV, and he intends to 'place' and 'consolidate' this share out of existence.
