I’ve just had a look at your posting history and it seems that you only have interest in commenting on John Wood Group and Mobico.

According to Short tracker Marshall Wace LLP have the largest short positions on the aforementioned companies, I’m wondering if this is significant or purely coincidental?

No offence intended, I was just wondering.

According to Marketwatch Mobico have an average daily trading volume of 1.21 million shares per day, this is based on a 65 day rolling average.

According to the London Stock Exchange todays volume was 871,540 traded.

In my humble opinion the market makers and short sellers have tried to induce a spot of panic selling and/or stop loss activations this afternoon, in no small part this is due to the lack of an overdue RNS from Mobico, I for one won’t be giving my shares away on the cheap.

The Mastercard SpendingPulse report was released today in the US and the quoted US stock prices were from the NYSE today as they were trading, the FTSE was closed, I’m struggling to understand the point that you are making?

US retail news:-

Holiday sales from the beginning of November through Christmas Eve climbed 3.8%, outpacing the 3.1% increase from a year earlier, according to Mastercard SpendingPulse, which tracks all kinds of payments including cash and debit cards. The last five days of the season accounted for 10% of the spending.

This has transferred through to an uptick in the Dicks Sporting Goods Inc. share price of 4.37% today and an increase of 5.24% in the share price of Footlocker Inc.

Hopefully this will have a positive impact on JDs share price tomorrow.

I can’t seem to find that, according to Shorttracker GLG increased their short to. 0.51% on the 28th of March, are you sure you’ve got that right?

I note with interest that GLG Partners have opened a 0.51% short position on CARD (see shorttracker), I guess this explains the recent share price drop, I would imagine that they’ve been hiding under the 0.5% disclosure level for some time but they’ve now shown their hand.
I’ve held Card Factory for 14 months and experienced the short selling nonsense when Lombard Odier had a sizeable short position forcing the share price down to the mid 40’s, I’ve a very large holding in CARD with a 51p average and I’m not concerned in the slightest.
GLG Partners are trying to sow the seeds of doubt into PI’s minds in the run up to to the results due out on the 25th April, personally they won’t be buying my holding on the cheap, I fully expect Cards share price to be £1+ once GLG crawl back under their rock.
