South African variant could be resistant to vaccine, expert suggests, but new jab could be made in 'weeks'
Concern now moved to South African variant. We are going to see many more variants coming on board in the following months It does need a scientist to conclude it won’t be long before we get one that is not only more transmissible but more deadly.
Can’t understand why mrha don’t give details of the company. Perhaps tomorrow?
RNS says peer reviewed publication was on 17th dec. why RNS delay?
I’m a holder. I suspect this will be a small spike so mm can get folks on board before it goes down again with some paining selling and mm getting rich. Call me a sceptic? We need a RNS to see a sustained rise.
Now the stock has consolidated previous volatility just won’t happen. The reason for the 10:1 consolidation was to reduce volatility. Gone are the days of a big rise. Will only see a significant rise on the back of an RNS. Clearly the mm don’t think it’s worth £1 and they are the ones that matter.
Mm seem to like latest RNS. Problem has been convincing folks that we will need more than one vaccine
“ According to documents reviewed by the Financial Times, the Department of Health has awarded contracts worth at least £1bn to companies providing rapid testing. Many of the technologies relating to these contracts will feed into the Liverpool trial, in which everyone living or working in the city will be eligible for a test from Friday.”
Good summary of where the money is going. Unfortunately no mention of ODX. Real risk of missing the boat.
In share dealing most of us will have joined a bandwaggon rather than have been there from the start. It is therefore unusual for the sp not to drop below your buy in price- hence the mantra feed your money in gradually as there will be an opportunity to top up. For me the sp needs to drop below 1.4 for that prediction to be correct.
Nit2ynit
You say you are in it for the long haul yet you came out once and cursed the fact that you missed a spike. Aren’t you no different from the rest of us when we are seeing a sizeable loss. We just try and drown our sorrows by putting the shares in the bottom drawer and put the loss out of our mind by talking about “long term”.
“ RE: Price drop alreadyToday 11:36
1.4p on its way after the day traders are out”
So what sp are folks waiting for to top up. I made the mistake in the past of buying on the fall for the sp to end up much lower. If there is a considerable interval before new news the we all know aim shares usually fall on the back of silence.
Leaders pledge $60m for global Covid testing
Australia, Germany and Saudi Arabia are among a host of countries to pledge a total of $60?million (£46?million) to a World Health Organisation-led initiative to ensure that coronavirus tests are available across the globe.
Dr Catharina Boehme, of the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics, part of the initiative, welcomed the funding but said $1?billion was needed over the next 12 months to help measure and control the pandemic. She said that while a vaccine had been seen as a “silver bullet”, testing was “critical”.
Update: The University of Oxford said that it has carefully assessed the case in Brazil and there have been no concerns about the safety of the trial. Shares of AZN have pared nearly all the loss with a clearer message here that the death wasn't believed to be related to the vaccine.
