SHAKING
First time ever I've paid over £2 for a share and it drops to £1.98. Really annoyed I didn't wait longer before investing in BT although at £2.15 a still think the share was undervalued.
"A WHOLE LOTTA TREE SHACKING GOIN' ON"
The former chief executive of BT Group has waived half of his £1m annual bonus for his final year at the helm amid a fresh escalation of shareholder hostility towards multimillion pound pay deals at blue-chip companies.
Sky News has learnt that BT's annual report, to be published on Thursday, will disclose that Gavin Patterson elected to forfeit £500,000 of the bonus award following discussions with the telecoms giant's board.

The ultra-compact version of the ADVA FSP 150-GO102Pro is the smallest cell site gateway device on the market with a ruggedized design for deployment in challenging and space restrictive environments. MEF 3.0-certified and with a uniquely rich feature set, it will support Openreach’s 1Gbit/s Carrier Ethernet and IP services and deliver the precise phase synchronization needed for 5G mobile connectivity.
BT’s profits are likely to tread water over the next few years. Customers may well see higher prices and the dividend might even be cut as Jansen tries to turn this business around. He will be closely watched along the way, but his past performance suggests that he could make a go of it. Existing shareholders should hold and think of that 7 per cent yield.
The new chief executive of BT said it could connect 15 million premises with fibre connections by the mid 2020s if the conditions are right, as the company reported an as-expected 2 percent drop in full-year core earnings on Thursday.
“Our aim is to deliver the best converged network and be the leader in fixed ultrafast and mobile 5G networks,” Philip Jensen said in his first set of results. “We are increasingly confident in the environment for investment in the UK.”
BT held its dividend for the year and said it expected to do so again in respect of the current financial year.
Philip Jansen will kick-start his tenure as BT chief executive this week by adopting a bolder approach to fibre investment as part of a plan to return the British telecoms group back to growth. The former Worldpay boss, appointed to run BT last October, has spent his first few months meeting government officials, regulators, unions, staff centres and shareholders to understand the problems that have caused the company’s value to halve over the past three years. On Thursday he will attempt to make his mark as he unveils full-year results along with turnround plans, which will include ramping up the number of fibre lines it plans to install, according to people with knowledge of the proposals.
BT has already moved to freeze its dividend payments for the 2019 and 2020 financial years, preserving its £1.5bn payout, but Mr Jansen could justify a cut thereafter if investors are convinced of the long-term growth prospects of investing in fibre. Some large shareholders would even back an immediate dividend reduction to support Mr Jansen’s strategy, according to a person with knowledge of the situation, but the shares could be hit as this would reverse the reassurance given by Jan du Plessis, chairman of BT, to maintain the payouts for the next two years.
Japanese giant NTT the eighth largest Telecom company in the world are to move their international Headquaters to London as part of a plan to expand its golbal presence. An offical announcement is expected in July.
Can I say this is not my BT share price prediction for 2026.

Faulty I'm going to say 225.86 close of play Friday 19th
Just checked the NYSE and there's no big drop recorded there. Just an error. My concerns now focus on Rod, I hope he's not had a heart attack!
Its also reflected on Bing as a drop of 13%. Can't find any information why there's a drop.

I'll go for 224.75 close of play on Friday and pray that I'm wrong, I'll explain later why, if I win.
Don't knock Jansen for playing his cards close to his chest. He has a lot of things to consider. The sell off of OPENREACH will be certainly one of them. The cost of providing a full fibre network, does it make financial sense to allow other SP's to sit back and on its completion offer their services without the need for staff to provide the service or maintain it? not forgetting the all the financial penalties enforce by OFCOM that go with it. In PLUSNET, BT already has a model in place to become a just another SP.
