Dai it's completely different on every trade.
Generally the higher risk micro caps will need to deliver a larger percentage % gain to cover the spread and risk vs reward and constant monitoring and manually opening and closing out tranches.
In FTSE stocks its easier to rely on stops and limit orders actually fulfilling at the price you want them too, also far easier to trade in size and not worry about getting locked in or having to accept price below the bid to get out in size or having to break up sells etc.
As im sure you know. On AIM trades you have to be all over it at all times, much harder to trade in size in this present market and therefore its generally best to use any volume spikes to sell into strength.
In the small cap space, I'm not trading anything anywhere near the position sizes that I would have felt comfortable with two years ago when the small cap markets were awash with liquidity.
