I've started to build a sizeable position. My first tranche was on the 3rd November. The majority of large buys over the past 11 days have been mine, including the large buys on the 3rd November. As Roger and other posters have pointed out, it's quite possible this could go to 6p!!! Personally I hope it doesn't and I think there's a good chance of some upward momentum in the very near future. I've got all the shares that I want for the time being. Good luck to all holders. Atb Popeye.
Thanks Trek for sharing your position and views, but like AbjectPerformer I'm also holding and adding at these ridiculously low levels. I reinvested all the dividends Monday at 4.40p a share. Good luck with your choices. Atb Popeye.
Hi TrekMalone - I never used to trade in and out of FTSE100 stocks, I just use to buy and hold. But after reading many of your posts about dipping in and out and sometimes selling the stock prior to ex-dividend, I've also now started to churn my holdings on a more regular basis. I've bought and sold Phoenix many times. Sometimes after stamp duty and dealing costs I'm only making a mear 10-12p per share, but it's helped to reduce my average substantially. My average is a little higher than yours at 522p, but the bulk of my holding will attract the 26p dividend payable on the 23rd October. My intention is to reinvest the dividend. My wife and I have only four stocks in our portfolio at the moment. We hold Phoenix, Avva, Legal & General and BAT. Currently 80% is invested in Phoenix Group. Nothing is guaranteed in this life as you know, but I have a strong conviction that Phoenix will be an extremely rewarding investment. Time will tell. Good luck. Atb Popeye.
Looks like GLG partners are exiting their short position altogether in Phoenix Group. Let's see if Citadel also now close their position. Phoenix Group is now our largest holding within our portfolio. As others have pointed out, in time Phoenix will get back to £6. It's just going to take a little bit of patience. I still maintain that Phoenix will be 525-545p by year end 2023. Good luck to all holders. Atb Popeye.
Clued - I second that. I also hold Aviva. I reinvested the dividend yesterday in Aviva, so I'm already up 9% on the reinvestment on that so called basket case!!! I'm just waiting for Aviva to issue an rns to confirm the rumours. Once that happens the whole sector will go ballistic, because everyone will be trying to second guess who is next??? Have a look at the short declarations for Aviva. Our dear old friends GLG Partners are showing a position from the 4th October!!! That position is toast. It could well just be rumours with Aviva. Let's wait and see. Good luck. Atb Popeye.
Nicknaim - I think the 52 week low is 449.30p. But more interestingly look at Aviva today. Up 7% on bid rumours!!! With a figure of £6 doing the rounds. The sector is extremely undervalued at present and some of these companies will disappear overseas with their present extremely low value. GLG partners short position is now at the lowest it's been for over two years, which would signal we're now at the bottom. I'm sure there's others that would disagree. I'm more than happy to hold and add at these levels and pick up the big fat dividend along the way. GLA. Atb Popeye.
Istabrraq - Phoenix Group now represents 80% between my wife and I in our portfolios. At the moment PHX represents excellent value and in my opinion is extremely undervalued. My price prediction for year end this year will be anything between 525-545p. With a trading update in December it's possible that the SP could be higher than my upper estimate, depending on how strong the cash generation numbers are. Good luck. Atb Popeye.
Toffee said we need to listen and learn, so we don't make the same mistake again!!! I added a load more yesterday at 4.73p. We sold half of our BAT after booking the dividend. This will be back above £5 sooner than you think Toffee. Listen and learn, so you don't make the same mistake again!!! Lol
Velladean - The dividend will be 26p and we may be in for a nice little surprise in the form of a special dividend IMHO. I sold my holdings in Direct Line this morning for 175.70p and immediately put all the proceeds into Phoenix Group. Looking forward to the results and the juicy dividend. Good luck. Atb Popeye.
Charlie - I couldn't sit on my hands. I sold shares yesterday between 2.74 and 2.752. I was holding quite a few shares, so it was good to take a chunky profit. Now I will sit on my hands. I hope it goes higher for all LTH'S. I've learnt from many years of trading always to take a profit and not to be too greedy. GLA. Atb Popeye.
Fastfood - You need to change the record!!! At the moment this is a traders dream. It went as low as 1.42p on the 20th July and hit 2.80p yesterday, Friday 28th July. That's virtually a 100%. I like many other traders, will trade the life out of this. So instead of bashing the company and looking for negatives, why don't you jump on board and make some money??? There's a good chance it will break 3p on Monday. Have a great weekend I know I will. Atb Popeye.
