Thanks Mullins58 for posting the twitter links/updates also. I am not in UKOG personally, so I would have missed most of this ;)
Two days in a row with more buys than sells and we finish in the blue. Looks like a few half decent buys on NEX as well. I would have thought the updated corporate presentation may have tempted a few more PI's as the last spike seemed to correlate with the last presentation but never mind. At least the ridiculous spread will put some people off profit taking maybe. HH has been good to raise albas profile, hopefully people will begin to see what else is on offer and a sustained rise will be forthcoming...
Thanks Yanis, and accumulate I will. So sure am I that this will at absolute minimum double in the coming years that I plan to build a significant holding while things are quiet...then in years to come if the gold mines are bare and the Ilmenite turns out to be fag ash I will take what little money I have left to buy a hat...and eat it. Haha
Earlier in the year I had shares in tekcapital and reneuron. The share price for both had been fairly stagnant and over time incrementally sliding down, and the talk on the bb's was much the same as on almost every other bb - no news, dilution, I was in at x amount, now only worth y. Around april both multi bagged and I sold (probably too early) because there were other shares I had my eye on. The point is, as of last years balance sheet we had around 8m of assets which have been further scoped and refined yet currently hover around 6-7m market cap. Alba looks much stronger than so many other speculative shares, and more secure in the sense that we a) have found something of value rather than just promising and b) are not too far off generating an actual income, yet strangely we are priced so low. When activity ramps up a steady stream of news should see sp jump, so the day to day drift and mm tinkering is not relevant as the longer term is where the patient will (hopefully) be rewarded. It shows the lack of logic on aim however - UKOG - we may have more oil than we though - investors - yaay! I will have some of that, up 5pc. Alba - we have 11pc of that oil - investors - booo! Down 2pc.
I agree. Confirmation there that the mine refurbishment is complete, and sums up our assets and plan well. Shame it didnt come earlier in the week to see if it gives us a lift in sp
Biggest nugget on earth found in Welsh hills, Alba rises to 0.21p per share before dropping back down to 0.05p. Haha!
Decent buying today on AIM, and what looks like 11m shares dumped on NEX. People getting impatient perhaps
To be honest HH is a good asset and will hopefully bring some coin in the near term, but the draw for me is that we have a diverse portfolio of projects hence the risk is spread. Yes we have the gold exploration side, but there are plenty of other microcap explorers with arguably more prospective sites. HH and Thule have significant potential, but if I wanted a share of oil or Ilmonite alone I could just buy shares in UKOG or Bluejay. A fundraise or a partnership would be preferable (for me) to develop our other assets to their full potential as it is the fact that you have a finger in every pie that makes Alba so attractive. At the moment we have a Blair/Bush scenario where we just hang off every UKOG rns. Haha! No reason for all of the sells today, nor for the flurry of buying on other days. Once progress is made accros all projects a steady news flow should see this jump, and given the impact even small trades seem to make it won't take much to move in the right direction assuming we don't go under in the meantime.
Looks like a 3m buy today on nex, few relatively small sells on AIM. Yesterdays burst of activity remains unexplained.
I thought you meant we as in we investors. I was all like 'yes, you can invest your money in any exchange you want'. Haha! I agree with ocelot, we need every penny at the minute to develop our resources and hopefully get some income flowing, sp will bounce about like usual but once the true prospects here are clear we will attract more investment
Be interesting to see what Thule is valued at when the next accounts land, since the last set we have a JORC inferred resource status so suspect that should bump up the balance sheet also. Much as I appreciate the updates on HH, what about Clogau? Today Alba even beat UKOG to it with the RNS. Haha!
In terms of news we are waiting for, Clogau update as the renovation work was supposed to be complete a little while back now. Greenland partnership agreement, buyer for oil interests perhaps? Could maybe get a lift from Bluejay Rio sample? Or more likely, no news and tomorrow we are back to small buys and sells. Still, shows how quickly things could get exciting :)
If they were all just buys I would have thought maybe, but that big sell of 7.5m first then a flurry of big trades seems very odd, especially given the low volumes we usually have and the fact that we have had no news. Fingers crossed though
12m bought in the space of about 3 mins, not bad considering we have had the odd hundred quid trade each day. 7m sale also, big volumes considering bot all has happened...haha!
Massive sell, then massive buy. Somebody press the wrong button?
True, we need a partner to share some of the burden really. So much potential, but it takes money to make money and 50pc of 200m is better than 100pc of nothing.
Given that UKOG recently paid 12m for 35pc share in HH, Albas 11pc stake should be worth at very least around 4m. Given the current mcap, that would leave 2.2m for all of our other projects including the potentially world class ilmonite reserve at Thule. Given that Bluejay have a mcap of over 70m based almost solely on their similar Ilmonite project then you would imagine Alba would look like a bargain, yet still dribs and drabs of low volume sells. Patience is king methinks...
I would agree but there are plenty of exploration companies out there with a significantly higher mcap that ours without any near term prospect of actually digging anything out the ground. Many companies are still working towards achieving a maiden JORC resource, but even if that is achieved they would still need some 5-10 years to build a mine along with multiple fund raises unless a partner is found. We are closer to production on a number of fronts yet don't seem to have the same interest.
Best of luck dsfat. The problem with Alba is that while we are one of a select few shares on AIM that are genuinely undervalued, we aren't so good at 'selling the story'. There are many other companies out there with a high share price relative to NAV but that have built a significant investor base by taking every opportunity to sell their own virtues...people buy in and the share price rises, sustained increase draws more attention and investment. At these prices we should see a lot more volume, but instead each day the sp wavers up and down by minute fractions as 2 or 3 people buy or sell a few hundred quids worth of shares. Sigh. At the end of the day we could have a balance sheet with 1bn in assets, but unless we stir up some interest the sp is going nowhere.
So what do people think of today's announcement? I think some of it we already knew/could imagine, some fairly significant. Yet the sp drops? Not really even a big spike then profit taking, just...drops. Strange the logic of some people, invest on hype then sell at a loss the more things shape up. Same thing for Alba or any other share. Hmm
