IBAI’s imaging-platform (“Functional Tumor Burden (FTB) mapping” / “fractional tumour burden mapping”) has been adopted in a Phase 2 feasibility study for newly diagnosed high-grade gliomas (a type of brain tumour). 

• The study is led by a credible figure: Dr Danielle Bazer (Neuro-Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper University) which enhances the credibility. 

• The innovation: the FTB maps aim to go beyond conventional imaging by distinguishing active tumour, necrosis, and treatment-related changes at a voxel level (i.e., very fine detail) — this is technically meaningful. 

• The study is testing a novel paradigm: giving chemotherapy (temozolomide) before radiation in newly diagnosed gliomas, and using IBAI’s mapping to assess early response. If successful, this could change how early-phase trials are designed. 

• The company emphasises that the trial could help “more efficient drug screening and personalised treatment strategies”. 

So in short: IBAI has a real, clinically-relevant trial application for its imaging tech — beyond just proof of concept — which is a positive step.
