Even if Putin snuffed it and Russia pulled out tomorrow I think it would take quite awhile for NATO etc to trust the Russian regime. Western companies are falling over themselves to pull out of Russia and are taking huge hits to their investments, the trust has gone and it will take a new leader a long time and a lot of good wil lto repair that damage, sanctions are here to stay imo. I doubt Putin is going anywhere for awhile regardless of what the media say, even when he does, it's likely he has another nutter lined up to carry on his work. NG is going to be in short supply and much sought after for quite a while in my view.
It will take a couple of years but Russia will reconfigure their gas network, invest in new pipelines and look towards the Asian markets to sell their fossil fuels. Its a terrible tragedy what's going on but its boom time for those with gas to sell.
I work in the nuclear industry and after years of neglect in the UK you wouldn't believe the amount of money being offered for investment, its gone mad, eye-watering amounts and its all getting fast tracked.
Hi Crude, hope all is well.
Ive no idea how any PI can blame another, we all recieved the same information. So what if Crude sold at 85p ish, he didnt have to inform anyboby and this didnt drop to 1p overnight either, plenty top sliced and took a profit at that time.
Some will always look to blame others or look for a scapegoat. We are all big.boys and we all make.our own decisions. My problem was I got too greedy, it won't happen this time around.
It would be far more advantageous for the Moroccan people and economy to get that gas flowing than trying to clobber a foreign company investor with a spurious tax bill. Let's not pretend anybody invested in Sound with a view to helping the poor folk of Morocco, every one of us wants a profit on our investment, nothing else.
Both would be nice. A decent return on my investment and some justice for the disgraceful and in my opinion criminal behaviour that nearly lost me my hard earned and did so for many others. Fraud is potentially a very serious offence, when the numbers start getting large so does the penalty, just take a look at the sentencing guidelines. If one or two of those offenders take a large hit to the pocket and/or get pur behind bars, then that would be the cherry on the cake when I sell up here.
I'm not one for constantly looking back, the future is looking rather good now at sound and long may it continue. If I was GL I'd be informing the authorities that I'll be flogging the gas to Europe if that farcical tax demand isn't dropped. We have the gas and plenty want it.
AGM in June and I suspect more positive news will be landing beforehand.
I'm intrigued, is anybody going to spill the beans on the Trellis news. I thought he'd given up on bringing parsons to book long ago. Every credit if he pulls it off, I always had my doubts, regulators and senior management etc all pi55 in the same pot.
Germany may well wean itself off Russian oil + coal this year but it will be at least a couple of years before it can do the same with its gas. Merkel has a lot to answer for with her policies towards Russia. The current German hierarchy are coming under huge pressure both internally and externally to stop the flow of cash to Moscow. They bought around €40bn worth of energy off them last year.
Nevertheless, gas prices are going to stay high for a good while and anybody who has got any to sell willl be well sought after imo.
That was a very positive interview, the best I've seen in quite a while GL looks relaxed and rather upbeat. The invasion of Ukraine has been an absolute tragedy, its truly horrific what Putin is up to. Nobody but him wants this war but without trying to sound a complete tw*t, it's been a blessing indisguise for a few companies, including sound. Half the world is literally scrambling around trying to get their hands on gas from alternative sources. Financing phase 2 is not going to be problem, whereas for years it looked mission impossible. Algeria spitting their dummy out hasn't done any harm either. Things are looking up for a change. Gla
Those on the Angus board seem to think so. I doubt it will happen though or at least on scale. I live 15 miles from the Cuadrilla fracking site, it didn't effect me but i know from friends /work colleagues who live close by that it caused an absolute **** storm in the local community. Unfortunately it seems some of the best fracking sites are typically in the tory heartlands. The potential of Bowland shale is huge but in a nailed on Conservative seat. It was rather amusing to see eco warriors and the local gentry side by side campaigning against the fracking site (for total different reasons of course) People want it but nowhere near them. If these sites were located next to council estates they would already be up and running imo.
