Morning @ Starrenstoff, per my earlier ‘Washington Post’ post, I’m still unclear if even the GDR provision of manufactured test to BC to include in lab automated testing process is also now out of scope of requiring EUA.

If so, great news, if not, as you were but pressure increasing to expedite EUA...considering political connotations, expect reaction to increase EUA throughput...

The downside (catch) from what I’ve read of using lab test which is not FDA/ EUA approved even if now out of scope is lab taking on the legal burden - eg you fallout of legal acts to prevent litigation against labs in lieu of FDA/EUA.

With upcoming election plus below, you can see why this is such a political hot potato...if this type of political pressure can’t expedite approvals (including if we still have to wait for existing EUA) nothing can!:

Still unclear of impact of HHS / FDA political shenanigans this week - WP article best one I found (sorry if posted already) - question from me:

- Does this exemption apply to GDR due to collab with BC, or still excluded as we are selling manufactured test kit to GC (even if embedded in an automated lab process)?

Subsequently from memory, believe Safy (?) received confirmation from GDR/ Walbrook that FDA EUA was applied for ‘within 1-2 weeks of ICMR’.

“In general, regulatory approvals are taking longer than anticipated and the regulatory agencies we are engaged with are unable to provide definitive timelines for approvals, which we believe is due to a significant increase in their workload.

- Indian approval was applied for in mid-June and the process is ongoing. The Company remains very confident that rapid commercial roll out could be achieved in India through both existing distribution partners and DIVOC Health, a new COVID focussed partner in India.

- The Company has signed a number of distributors across Africa and is in the process of registering the product locally. The CoV-2 Test was submitted for WHO approval in early June, although this is not a primary focus for market entry as many African countries have their own approval processes.

- In the United States, Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) has been applied for and remains under consideration by the FDA. The Company has been in discussion with several interested partners to access the US market, but all discussions have been subject to receipt of EUA approval.“

There’s no doubt GDR is currently the ugly duckling of the Covid stocks.....

....but we all know how that story ended.
