SKYWEST AIRLINES LTD(“Skywest” or “the Company”)
Skywest Expands Aircraft Fleet
Skywest, Western Australia’s largest regional airline, has signed an agreement to purchase an additional Fokker 50 aircraft from a European owner. The acquisition of the aircraft will increase Skywest’s fleet to 17 aircraft.
The aircraft has been inspected by Skywest’s representatives. The price for the aircraft is USD 2,010,000. The consideration will be met by Skywest over the next 19 months from internal cash flow.
Skywest has a desire to improve network reliability and on-time performance. This additional aircraft will bolster the fleet and will potentially lower Skywest’s ongoing costs for the cross hire of aircraft from other airlines. This additional aircraft will also be used for freight delivery in Western Australia
Jeff Chatfield, Executive Chairman of Skywest, commented:
“We are satisfied with the terms we achieved for this plane and are pleased that we will be further able to increase reliability and on time performance and add additional freight capacity.”
