For sure. Expect BB to blow up big time once it comes. It will be hard to spot the old timers amongst the noise that’s coming ha
Fair dealer. I’m really not attacking you or Barchild.
Posted myself here a few weeks back and was a little surprised at the way BC responded, as such I decided to look at his previous posts regarding Mars to get a feel for his investment type and the way in which others are dealt with - you see how I didn’t take it personal there ? The statement made by Oracle back then wasn’t all that ludicrous was it, when within 5 months it came into fruition as he posted. The wild zero that followed was likely a result of guys poking the bear thereafter. You seem like a reasonable guy, and I’m aware you’ve both been here together some of the duration, one appears to bounce off the other somewhat. What I’m suggesting is likewise, where some of us have £1 + expectations... it really isn’t that ludicrous when you look past what’s right in front of you. Of course if that does come about within the next 5 months we can forget about all this and the posters that anticipated it and then bang on about how fundamentals have changed and what that means for Mars in that moment. Concrete thinkers vs Abstract thinkers - there’s the one size fits all answer to all the wild and pointless interrogations.
I’m bullish moving forward as long as we get nothing unexpected beforehand. Based off recent postings I’ve trimmed my holding a little more cautiously in order to take full advantage of any potential RI etc. The risk I now hold however is that if all goes well and suggested doesn’t come into play then my overall gain will be reduced as a result of that. Swings and roundabouts ehhh... core holding will now remain intact until further company updates.
No aspersions fella.

Oracle
If you really think they will go to 27p why did you not impart this esteemed knowledge on us all when they were 130p ?
Or were you perhaps thinking then that they would go up to 270p ?
Kindly enlighten us.
Does every post that doesn’t fall in line with your ways of thinking really warrant detailed explanations to justify such postings. The above shows clearly, that even whilst one appears to be in the know, one is also very much wrong also - over time.
You guys need to remember this is a bulletin board, take a few steps back and chill some. There are going to be mixed opinions. There are also going to be forward looking or backward looking statements based on beliefs rather than the cold hard facts some struggle to see past. It is what is and will be what it will be. It’s just a question of time.
The one thing I don’t get is back when this was £1.20 p/s a poster called Oracle posted here and was calling 20p p/s as per BC chat history. Barchild and possibly also yourself flamed him for this and demanded he elaborated on such nonsense - low and behold covid came and that exact outcome has happened. Now we are where we are all of a sudden you’ve both turned pessimists instead and that is what I don’t get. Is there a need for it to be explained ? Most likely not.
Thereality is that none of us can accurately predict the future and in short that is what creates a market.
Hi @chumba
Wasn’t trying to advise my friend. I’m here long term and anticipate great results over the duration. I wouldn’t want to be fully out of this at any point, that’s what I was trying to get across. My first buy here was at 72p and topped up again at £1.05 also. Have kept hold of those shares throughout and will continue to add on dips... likewise I’m reluctant to sell any and won’t be putting any limits on at all as it just opens the door in my mind, of selling yourself short.
When you look at the overall picture of Menzies as a whole and across the duration it’s a very attractive company to back moving forward, and that’s something you don’t see all that often. Has winner written all over it.
ATB - PP
Menzies isn’t a sell limit share, it’s a hold and keep adding one.
As above incoming. I’m wondering what the odds are of some accompany news as the new BOD look to show their worth. Ignazio was never big on RNS info so would be good to see Brad bring a lot more depth in that regard also. Orosur main site updated already to reflect recent board changes so that’s positive
Why on earth would you be shorting an already crippled market. Realist or not, that’s more akin to complete and utter madness
The whole world is vulnerable to a second lock down and all markets alongside it... not just MARS rofl
Because it was undervalued, still is
I’m still handsomely in the blue and ready to add more. If any of my others were significantly up they would be sold and added to here..... pending..... lol
Would suggest 60p + is possible on any given day with some good news. One has to bear in mind the recent jump from 30p to 75p + on JV news before claiming this as an impossibility. Personally I don’t agree with the 20p figures being thrown about but each to their own. The delay is due to CAMRA and from what I’ve seen posted, if I was a CAMRA employee I’d be loading up right now if I suspected the JV will go ahead. At the end of the day... there’s money to be made and it isn’t all black and white.
Agree completely. Even back at the start there were no strict guidelines for people to follow. The sooner they get a handle on that the sooner everything can return back to normal. Means to end job...
Personally i don’t see how having either schools or another activity open changes anything. The government need to strip it back to basics and focus on stopping the spread. I’m more likely to catch Covid via my daughter being at school as to what I am my daughters teacher drinking at her local pub, going to the gym or socialising with her family and friends or vice versa.
We either need barriers in place to prevent this or just remove the goddamn bridge. Closing one activity for another has to be the most unscientific solution that could have been presented ha
Title shares same mentality as the tards. If that minority were self isolating sensibly on any sign of illness or in general taking reasonable precaution rather than following such titles/mentality this would all be behind us already. The world we live in ehh...
*technique
Interesting trade technic
All very good and valid points Hollicat. I’d like to think that the majority of that is already factored into the current SP, it makes most sense overall + Covid factor.
So the whole play here is whether or not they can carry on along the lines of the original plan and then also make it profitable as they go. If so up we go, if not we shall see. Blue sky has to outweigh the grey at these levels though, just like before all this the grey possibly outweighed the blue when you consider the overall picture was pretty much the same minus covid factor.
A lot of bargains to be had all around, hopefully these turn out to be one of those. Have a pleasant day
@hoolicat
Interesting opinion however you contradict your own views within your conclusion.
Not tearing you down but interesting that you see the pub side as more profitable than the brewery side which as stated is much less profitable with tighter margins however it’s then a negative that they are taking a large sum on that whilst also maintaining a 40% stake in the combined JV with a bigger player moving forward. Oxymoron right.
Businesses are going to have to adapt and change to the climate moving forward. If successful SP will be higher, reverse and lower which then brings us back to current day.
Place ya bets...
