David1951c, I think the deal will conclude much quicker than you think as it is the consent orders from the courts which are critical, and as I heard things that should happen within the next two to three weeks. Expecting further upwards movement when they are signed off.

What the BoD should do is hold a live Q&A just like ARCM did this morning about the M&A position and look at it now, it is flying.

Thanks for the correction Oiltap. One thing we can agree upon is that there is massive potential for M&A activity here given CB’s age and where we are in the commodity super cycle. Add to that is the fact that Africa is so isolated from what’s going on in Europe at the moment and Zambia now a relatively safe haven for investment.

Yep, look at who owns the Mopani mine: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mopani_Copper_Mines and it is testament to CB’s connections that they are making these cores available to him even though he’s picked up this license right in their backyard.

The piece of the RNS which really got my attention is this: “ The top 30m from surface is reported to be leached, with oxide mineralisation occurring below this depth to about 70m below surface. Beyond this depth, copper generally occurs as sulphides. The deposit is reported to be open and relatively untested at depth. About 30% of the total contained copper occurs in acid soluble form (as copper oxide) - this is expected to be higher in the shallower parts of the deposit.”

If I am reading this correctly there are sulphides there beneath the oxides at incredibly shallow depths. If so, subject to some further proving up there’s no way GLR will ever be mining it imo as the majors will be all over it like a rash.

For the life of me I can’t understand why anyone would sell into this rise when there’s so much more news to come. The company is materially under valued at these levels with zero chance of getting stuffed with a placing and the long awaited drilling results from the KCB could be transformational.
My hunch is that CB wanted to get today’s news out first to reassure the market about funding before reporting on KCB which could emerge any time now.

Those who got in at the lows have scalped a bit of profit this morning but that’s now been absorbed imo with the last ten trades all being buys. Expect to see a strong blue close today, and why not with two excellent pieces of news and more to come from Senegal in pretty short order?

Surely the answer to that question is that the subsidiary holds the assets that they want to buy and that being registered in Cyprus it should be outside the scope of any sanctions which might be imposed by U.K. Government ?

Honest Tom, it’s worth noting that Royalties can be sold on. Check out TRR, they have built a portfolio of them. So if a Royalty agreement was an add on to any deal I would imagine that the Board would seek to capitalise it, wind up the company and return the cash to its investors.

I'll tell you what IS happening here and that there is clear evidence of a big fish accumulating here, as revealed in the late reported trades over the last few days, virtually all being large buys. It could be a hedge fund but more than likely it is the bidder imho buying up cheap stock(probbly through an intermediary) so (a) it will benefit from the rise in share price when the final bid is tabled (note that this benefit will reduce the net cost of its offer) and (b) it will secure it a decent percentage of the vote that will be required to ensure that the offer is accepted by shareholders. The ongoing effect of this accumulation will be to reduce the free float and hence the liquidity of the stock. Thus the share price should start rising exponentially as long as nobody feeds them with cheap stock. Some seem to get flushed out by the market makers' tactic of delaying the reporting of these large buys but would be wise to look closely at the trades which are reported after the close imo.

the sea of red out there today has little to do with Putin. It's mainly about rising bond yields and inflation. Tech stocks and those reliant on debt are the ones that are getting really hammered and oilers are one opf the best places to be during such a rout imo as long as they are not burdened with debt. Strong hold and buy the dips for me.
