Mr T, don’t get me wrong, I never said I love shorting stock. There are pro and cons. Cons usually get more press then pro. Fact is that it is legal and as investors we need to learn how to deal with it. That’s my opinion.
Mr T, basis point is the cost for borrowing... naked short has obv no cost, but it’s not an option for long term shorts. Your counterpart wouldn’t let you not deliver the share for more than a few days as per best practice in the market.
Apologies mr T. I was being retorical.
Naked short is legal in Uk. This country and a few others, Germany for example, decided to skip on the application of the EU rules. I had this conversation a few weeks back with my compliance officer funny enough.
Despite all its woes I'm still bullish on this stock. Others of course may have their own views. DYOR.. I may of course be totally wrong . At the back of my mind is the thought billionaires don't like to look stupid.
T I am bullish too but which billionaire are you talking about? Columbian or Vern? ??
“Short stacking up confidently” is a bit of an overstatement....
Just ENA, few basis points, still well below 10%
I don’t understand the General mood (down).
With what’s happening around the world, I’d say metro is holding up ok
Happening now? With the GE getting close I’d love to talk to the risk manager of those hedge fund still short.. risk/reward favour long investor here.. it’s not anymore about “if” but “when” the SP will reflect the new shareholders scenario
Difficult to say Bristol. If last few days are the trend we might have Cohen and shorts reducing. SP action is still unusual. The market is not buying an offer yet, but all the pieces of the puzzle seem to be starting to fit in the right places...
Some fairly large sales after market closure - what does this imply?
