Perhaps this RNS http://www.investegate.co.uk/Article.aspx?id=201111101600028985R accounts for why there was a surge of buying earlier this month (3/11/11) including one of £206k. Hopefully the management change will get them back to doing some science. Their record this year has been woefully lacking in what they are supposed to be doing – more about restructuring: http://www.investegate.co.uk/CompData.aspx?code=ASM&tab=announcements Worth keeping on a watch list imho for those who aren't in and hopefully better times to come for those who are in.
Certainly an impressive discovery, with potentially more to come.
"Coastal Energy Company (the "Company" or "Coastal") (TSX-V: CEN) (AIM: CEO) announces the successful results of the Bua Ban North B-04 appraisal well. The Bua Ban North B-04 well was drilled to 6,000 feet TVD and encountered 64 feet of net pay in the Miocene objective with average porosity of 27%. The B-04 confirms the discovery made by the B-02 well, which encountered 62 feet of net pay in the Miocene with 26% porosity. The B-04 well is currently being cased and will then be suspended pending the arrival of production equipment. The Company plans to drill a water disposal well before mobilizing the rig to its next planned location." But will anybody notice?
"The Bua Ban North B-05 well was drilled to 7,600 feet TVD and encountered 178 feet of net pay in the Miocene objective with average porosity of 27%." But will anybody notice?
http://www.faroe-petroleum.com/get.file?ID=6730 I'd like to be back in here if the government sees the light re taxes.
You certainly set this board on fire last night! I had to trawl back about ten pages to cover the evening. Normally a page covers about a week's worth of posts! Anyway, I decided not to bother with CEO today (CHL flying at the moment). Have to go out anyway. ATB
They made a decent discovery about a month ago (20M bbls?) and that had s*d all effect on the sp! Similar stories last year when I'd meet fellow traders on the board when an RNS came out. They don't bother turning up any more. It's a solid-enough company, just not noticed by many. I'm not bothering today as it's too late in the trading day. If it gets some chat this evening and shows signs of climbing in the morning, I may get in on the first retrace. Garden time for me now as I don't bother much after about 3p.m.! :-)
I've traded it a couple of times in the past on the release of good news. Normally there's not much day-trading profit to be made so I didn't bother this time. Today looks better though, as long as they don't play the spread too much (as they have done on previous occasions). Imho it's off most peoples' radar.
LOL!
I'm good. Been very busy - hence quiet. I'm sniffing around and have taken a small punt here. (Am still holding a basic holding in SAR, just topped up NPE).
Ah, there you are!
Who are you asking about on the piste? :-)
I'm still reading up on this one, but the comparison with VGM seems quite fair so far. VGM was very good to me for a couple of years, so I hope further research proves MVC to be its equal.
It is quiet - and the sp is slowly creeping up. I haven't got back in to these unfortunately. Can't be in everything ...
Just to say you're not alone ....
fwiw I moved my SMDR into SQZ on Tues. Just want to leave the record straight. Not that anyone reads this board - or cares .... lol
Not sure what's best here. I'm staying 60:40 SQZ:SMDR. Also, can't be at the computer all day for instant trading opportunities.
Nice.
I suspect you're right. It's always nice to see that the shares are sought after by institutions tho'.
Buys rolling in on the back of this RNS though: http://www.investegate.co.uk/Article.aspx?id=20101124105900H5204
