In theory they could use seawater, yes. That's what Ritson was planninng to do. The main problem is they would have to build miles of pipelines and pumps with all the cost of that, plus government permissions, roads to cross, etc. There may also be environmental issues with pumping salt water into protected virgin forest ( not sure about that). So it isn't a quick alternative and certainly not cheap.
Quote from todays RNS:
"I look forward to providing our shareholders with further information on the benefits of the Steeldrum acquisition, the Lind Facility and our recent business performance at our AGM which takes place later today."
Plus he is already scheduled to speak at Malcy's Investor Evening on Tuesday, as per the big banner ad at the top of this board!
We all wanted an RNS... well this is the mother of all RNS's!!!!
I don't think anything is being 'kept back':
Q2 2017 update on 10 July
Q3 No RNS at all!
Q4 21 Dec but not a full quarter because of Christmas,
Q1 2018 on 9 April
So getting to 11th is no big deal IMO
Last years AGM was in September and the 6 months update was RNS'd at 0700 the day before. The AGM itself was followed by an LK presentation which was video'd and uploaded subsequently.
I can see this year possibly following a similar pattern.
I've been thinking there should be one before the AGM, like everyone else. However, there was not an RNS last October with the production figures for Q3, they were given in a presentation/media at about that time. So maybe there won't be one before the AGM but the figures will be given to the meeting? Just a thought.
Our AGM on 13th and LK on Oil & Gas Investor Evening with Malcy on 17th so any time between now and 12th is my guess.
I wouldn't take any notice of the "under review" bit., they've been saying that for months. I think it's just a get out of jail card in case something should go wrong one day.
Put simply,
A) You 'borrow' shares from a willing associate who has a lot. and presumably agree to pay him back with some agreed interest or commission figure.
B) You then sell the borrowed shares at what you think is a high price and gamble on the SP dropping to a level at which you can buy the same quantity back at a low enough price to be able to repay the original share lender with his agreed interest ( or extra shares, or whatever) and keep the difference. THAT is catscans massive fortune... if you believe a word that he says, of course.
C) However, the fortune he claims to make daily , is actually nothing at all until he buys back without making a loss.
No..... End of 2017 was a PEAK of 561.... "Production has continued to grow in Q1 2018 averaging 503 bopd and reaching a peak of 627 bopd during the quarter." ...... and we are now almost at the end of Q2
From Wikipedia: "Yellow strip price or touch price is a term used in the UK stock market (LSE) by Market makers for the highest bid price or lowest offer price, shown on the SEAQ or SETS screen in a yellow strip. The difference between the lowest (offer) and highest (bidding) price is known as the Bid-offer spread." Not sure what it means though!
LGO-fan, I think you my be getting ahead of things. The RNS back in March said ". The formal closure of the Concession was a necessary precursor to the re-tender of the Ayoluengo oil field by the Spanish authorities, which is expected to occur within the next 6 months." I don't think the tendering process has yet started.
For those who are really hung up on Spain, this link will tell you all there is to know about it, from its original discovery up to the beginning of this year! http://www.searchanddiscovery.com/pdfz/documents/2018/20416comet/ndx_comet.pdf.html
It has been suggested a number of times that for some while now, Lind have been selling and Schroders have been buying, and that is what is keeking the sp reasonably stable at around 5p. So I decided to have a look at the figures to see how long it might be before we got to the end of the Big Boys Two-Step. Schroders bought 60,000,000 when they originally bought in last September/October. The RNS of 25th April showed a total holding of 92,191,618 = a total open market purchase of 32,191,618 ( plus any they've bought in the last couple of weeks). Now it gets interesting: Lind had 7,692,308 share options, plus 2,307,692 for the monthly payment last September, plus 17,992,308 "escrowed shares" (now available) which makes a grand total of 27,992,308. That means that Schroders have bought over 4 million more than Lind had in total, even if they sold them all. Which makes it look as though there is another fairly sizeable seller in the picture as well, OR, I'm wondering what, if anything, I've missed in this calculation?
I am extremely hopeful that LK has learned a number of lessons in the past year, the most important of which is that in Trini, everything takes longer and is more complicated than one imagines at the outset: Leaky valves, sand in the wells, BOLT to be completed before eoy 2017, a small deal to be completed by end of Q1.... If he has learned that lesson then he will surely not issue any detailed plans for anything. He has already told us that they are working on the survey data and hopefully, we will be told, one day sometime this year, that "Tomorrow we will spud a well in Bonnasse". I sincerely hope we get no more advance notice than that, because it will stop all the stupid anticipation ramping and subsequent sp slide, that we have seen so many times in the past. I do agree though that the next 18 months should be good.
...from the Investors Show video: June 2017 - 327 End of 2017 - 550 "Now" - Above 600 End of 2018 - "North of 800" if the trajectory is maintained.
Thanks for that Chesh, brilliant find. Puts us into perspective against their total UK investments, let alone the worldwide ones!!
Don't be fooled, just did a small buy at 5.00 and was immediately offered 5.01 to sell them back again! Who knows whats going on??
Don't disagree in one way, however it costs significant amounts of cash to change a company name and there are better things to spend it on, IMO. LTL is the day to day working name for what its worth, and apart from in legal issues I'll bet that on the ground it's simply seen as part of CERP.
Only a week late then, that was last Thursday!! You need to get a new notification service.
